Problems with 3COM 3C900Combo
by Christian Moller
Hi all Fedora users,
I have just joined this list. I am running the latest Fedora but I can't get
my 3C900Combo networking card to work. I can see that the card is installed
but no IP-address is asigned to it and I can't set it. So I think that there
is a bug in that driver. Any other user out there who have a solution for
this?
Best regards and thanks,
Christian

RAGE XL Framebuffer
by Yanick Quirion
Hi all
I know that is not a specific question about Fedora, but I can't find answer on the kernel mailing list.
Is somebody having server with integrated ATI RAGE XL video card? Is it possible to patch the kernel to support this video card? If I add VGA=791 in my grub.conf, I will have a resolution of 1024x768 which is good, but the display is very slow (especially when the screen is scrolling). If I use I this: "video=aty128fb:1024x768@70" it will not work. I'm using kernel 2.4.22 but I will try 2.6.0-test11 today.
If somebody has a patch, a link or anything else that can help me, it will be appreciated.
Thanks for your help.
Regards,

Soundblaster
by Antonio Montagnani
I have two similar PC (old Pentium but workin fine)
In Pc no.1 I upgraded from RH8 to Fedora and it went fine: Soundblaster
is working fine
In Pc no.2 I made a fresh installation but in redhat-sound-config Fedora
doesn't see any card, that was working on Redhat 9 after soundconfig...
Where is the trick?? I assume that my Sounblaster is an old 16...but
fine on a router/firewall.
Tnx

Getting Fedora to recognize my Kindle
by David Cary Hart
This is probably basic stuff. It's just been a very long time since I
have had to do it.
Simply put, if I plug my Kindle into a USB port, Fedora fails to
recognize and mount it as an MTP device. This was working in F-21.
Particularly troubling is the failure of ADB to see the device after 21
-> 22.
No problem with my Android phone- Mounts and seen by ADB.
Where might I start? I would RTFM if I knew which FM to R ;-)

I'm shocked, shocked!
by Tom Horsley
To see that the "predictable" network name for my
one and only ethernet port has changed once again.
On fedora 22 eno1 is what used to be em1.
I have officially had it, I'm going to eradicate
this scourge and go back to eth0 so I don't have to
change all my iptables and ifconfig files every
time I upgrade fedora (or sometimes when I merely
get a new systemd update).

Unwanted blinking notice -
by Bob Goodwin
.
In Thunderbird, when I click on a URL in a message it does what I expect
it to and I don't need re-assurance the it has!
It brings up a flashing notification in the top left corner that I would
like to eliminate. Does anyone have a fix for that?
This is an updated F22/64bit system.

distcc only builds locally when using rpmbuild
by Sam Varshavchik
I've got distcc working correctly, when I run a build myself. I see the
build jobs getting distributed just fine.
However, when I use rpmbuild, all builds appear to be running locally.
ps shows the maximum number of "/usr/bin/distcc /usr/bin/g++ [options]"
processes running locally, that I but nothing gets distributed to other
hosts.
I've got %_smp_mflags set correctly to the number of build jobs that can run
in parallel, to the sum total of jobs that can be distributed via
/etc/distcc/hosts. Counting the number of distcc processes, I see that the
right number of jobs have started, but only the local build jobs are
running, and nothing gets distributed.
There must me something in the environment that's doing this, because when I
make the build myself, it works correctly.

Nautilus not show "Move to trash" in some case
by Dario Lesca
Stop fixing what is not broken.
Into nautilus / preferences / behavior / Trash, the flag "Include a
Delete command that bypasses Trash" is gone away (why?).
If the file to remove is into a folder into filesyste without user
trash, the right click on this file do not show "Move to trash".
So, in this case, it's not possible to remove the file or folder.
Workaround solution is using Caja (Great file manager!), thunar or open
a termina and delete the file/folder.
Some suggest?
Thanks
