After installing Fedora Workstation ...
by JD
During install, Anaconda let's you select one desktop from
the left column, and then select the groups of packages from
the right column.
Fine.
Now that fedora is up and running, how does one add a group
of packages ala the groupings presented by anaconda?
Where is the list of such group names documented, what
packages they contain, and how to install them.
Thanx!!!

Toshiba support in the kernel.
by Lain Cortés González
So, as I'm not a hardcore developer or coder, I was wondering: Is the
new support that it's dropped in the kernel for the Toshiba laptops
build by default or I'd have to compile by myself from "scratch"?

akmod Nvidia dependencies
by Patrick O'Callaghan
I just updated the kernel to kernel-4.0.6-300.fc22.x86_64 and rebooted.
The system came up in VGA mode, presumably because kmod-nvidia had not
recompiled. Is there a way to force this, or do I have to wait for an
update to akmod-nvidia?
For the moment I removed akmod-nvidia and rebooted with Nouveau. This
seems rather inelegant. I thought the akmod thing was supposed to take
care of these dependencies, or am I missing something?

Firefox scrollbar problem
by Philip Heron
Hi all,
I've noticed since F22 I can't grab the Firefox scrollbar with the mouse
pointer when it's on the very right of the bar. I have to move it in a
pixel or two in before it works. It's like there's a thin inactive
border around it.
Someone else noticed it too:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1232399
Anyone know a workaround? No other programs on F22 seem to have this
problem, even Thunderbird.

rngd read error
by Timothy Murphy
When I re-boot my Fedora-21/KDE laptop
I get dozens of error lines "rngd read error" in /var/log/messages .
This has been happening for some time.
I've ignored it up to now, as it seems to have no bad consequences.
But the number of times this line is repeated seems to be increasing,
so I thought I would look into it.
Many people have asked about this error message,
but the only helpful response I have seen was in
<https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/question/48046/boot-hangs-rngd-read-error//>,
where I read (in one of the answers):
------------------------
rngd gathers entropy from a hardware device, You don't have one, so rngd
doesn't work. This is expected, and not related to your problem. You can do
systemctl disable rngd with no ill effects to stop seeing the messages
------------------------
I've followed this advice, but am left wondering from what "hardware device"
rngd would "gather entropy"?
Incidentally, I read at one point that I could learn more from journalctl.
But when I run "sudo journalctl" I get an enormous number of lines,
ending with lines 262810-262850, dated March 10 (I assume this year).
Is there some way of culling journalctl?
I tried "sudo journalctl _SYSTEMD_UNIT=rngd"
but just got the response
Logs begin at Tue 2015-01-13 07:42:13 CET,
end at Mon 2015-06-29 17:25:30 CEST
I found "man journalctl" more or less unintelligible.
Maybe it was written by a machine?

gnome3 and gdm in f22
by Joachim Backes
Hi all F22 users,
having the following problem in F22/gdm with my ATI-Radeon video card 5400:
If logging out from a gnome3 session, it takes a very long time until
the login screen of gdm re-appears (10-20 secs). Some times I have to
restart my box because the screen remains dark after logging out (the
screen reports: no signal).
Sometimes it helps to click on the screen for getting back the login screen.
But: if running mate for example as desktop environment, the gdm screen
re-appears immediately after having logged out.
Any recipe?
Kind regards
Joachim Backes

DNF problems - maybe force ftp->http ?
by Martin Møller Skarbiniks Pedersen
Hi,
I am having big problems install new software and upgrading my current
F22 using DNF.
Maybe I am wrong but I think that if I could force dnf to use http(s)
instead of ftp, then my
problems would be solved.
Please advise.
Here is one example.
$ sudo dnf install AcetoneISO

DNF problems. (George R Goffe)
by George R Goffe
Thanks to whomever hinted "groupinstall". It's working great.
This option is NOT listed in the man page. Sigh.
FWIW, I'll file a bug report for this. I wonder what else is missing...
Anyway, THANKS for your help!
George...
