However, since I am using Cent OS 6, I don't see the latest package available in
epel. I tried to do 'yum upgrade 389-ds-base' but I just get the same version as

Hello, We don't release 389-ds-base for centos 6 and 7. Please get the
packages from the centos download cites.
Please note that 389-ds-base-126.96.36.199-75.el6_8 is the latest available
version for centos 6.
