I think kital can weigh in on this better but I think the present
process "requires" the applicant to make the first move on their
application process. This serves as a concrete demonstration of
interest. I'm sure we can tweak the process here and there.

Same case with me. After giving them a list of required tasks, they
drop like flies.

Correct. I'm chiming in because I just went through the process of becoming
a Fedora Ambassador. I have completed all of the steps listed here and am
waiting for my mentor to contact me:

Who is your mentor?
Please as a reminder to all folks joining the ambassador group,
mentors often have very busy lives that sometimes get overwhelmingly
busy. Do not get discouraged or upset if this process takes a little
time. We are all volunteers trying to help each other.
Thanks,
John

I chose Brian Powell as my mentor. I'm sure he is busy and will contact me
when he can.

The FOSSCon folks have asked if Fedora can come and do a table at their
event, http://fosscon.org, in Rochester NY (on the RIT campus) on June
19th, which is a Saturday. The table for Fedora would be free, and all
tables come with 2 tickets (usually $30 each) for those responsible for
said table.
I'll be there and would be more than happy to take a shift (and help
haul swag from Boston - I'm driving over and back), but can't be the
event owner because I'll have a bunch of profs from
http://teachingopensource.org/index.php/POSSE_RIT to gear up for a panel
in the afternoon.
Halp? Interest from anyone stepping up to do
