Hi Moacyr, Out of space and outta luck now.... The above thing doesn't work. It is always giving same error, error -2147483630 reading header: cpio read failed - Success and on conole 3, Error transfering stage2.img: [Errorno 2]: No such file or directory: '/mnt/sysimage/proc/rhinstall-stage2.img' and on console 4, <4> Error -3 while decompressing ! Is there anywhere i can seee, the detailed log file and post it over here, as to help it analyse. This problem might be related to anaconda and my hardware compatibility The installation of RedHat 9 proceeds quite well. I tested it for nearly 5-7 times to give any error remotely of same nature as this, but the hardware worked fine with Redhat 9. I am totally stuck, don't know, what is it to be worked on, Hardware, Linux kernel, or the Anaconda. loader2 changes

isys/pci generating pcitable files for custom distros

Hi All, Does anyone know about generating pcitable files? I am maintaining a distro based on redhat 7.3 and I am looking for a way to update the hardware support. This involves, as I'm sure you know, updating the pcitable files within the distro. Until this point I have been manually hacking the pcitable files but this is smelly and fraught with danger So far all I've come up with is that the files are "automatically generated from isys/pci", but I cannot get hold of isys/pci. I am guessing that it is either a python script or a binary that makes up part of the anaconda suite but does not seem to be distributed with the anaconda* rpm's. I've found the Linux PCI ID Repository at http://pciids.sourceforge.net/ but it seems to contain only pci.ids files an nothing more. Please, please help me!!! I welcome any advice what so ever. internationalization and customization

Hello. I wanna try to customize Anaconda and FC3 for my needs. Theres is no hy_AM.UTF8 locale in Fedora and there is no armenian translation of anaconda. I want to create my own Fedora Core 3 (or FC3 like) distribution with armenian installer and armenian locale enabled. Please, tell me something about steps, that I should do for it. I think I'll use buildinstall, genhdlist, and pkgorder utilities, and anaconda sources. Thank You very much!

On modifying stage2.img, the installation is hanging in doPostInstall() what i have done is: mount -o loop stage2.img old rsync -avz old new edited a file in new/usr/lib/anaconda umount old cd new mkfs.cramfs . ../stage2.img rm -rf old new -Mahesh Celebrating Life... __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Hi All, Its a novice out here in Anaconda Development. I have following packages in my custom Linux OS DVD (in Redhat/RPMS folder): openssh-3.1p1-15.i386.rpm openssh-askpass-3.1p1-15.i386.rpm openssh-askpass-gnome-3.1p1-15.i386.rpm openssh-clients-3.1p1-15.i386.rpm openssh-server-3.1p1-15.i386.rpm I want to upgrade them to the 3.5 series: openssh-3.5p1-1.i386.rpm openssh-askpass-3.5p1-1.i386.rpm openssh-askpass-gnome-3.5p1-1.i386.rpm openssh-clients-3.5p1-1.i386.rpm openssh-server-3.5p1-1.i386.rpm Can anybody give me some pointers to do this? Rebuilding Anaconda w/ RHEL U4

kernelVersionList

Hey guys, Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why the kernelVersionList() method is duplicated for the ComponentSet and GroupSet classes (in comps.py and hdrlist.py)? Both sets of code look identical except for (in the code base I'm using) a kernel-hugemem entry in the hdrlist version. Thanks, --Patrick.

Error while transfering stage2.img

Hi, As earlier i was trying to update the kernel, and just completed the work, The CD i made is booting successfully, formating the file systems, as specified in ks.cfg. Then i get the Problem.... "An error opccured transfering tyhe install image to your hard driver You are probably out of space. ON Console number 5 The error i see is....
