You can't just choose any board that might be similar, it has to be the
right device, you could actually damage the device, but in the very least
it won't work.
The Pinebook Pro support is currently incomplete.

is there any update on this topic? I can't find any newer information.
There's no current new information for standard users.
My free time of late has been close to zero due to personal life events and
work deadlines.
I'm back to making some forward movement but ATM it's still not consumable
for an end user, it's not far off and when it's ready I'll have it
documented and it'll be supported in rawhide.
