I bought a Udoo Neo and put Fedora on it.
It works well, but when I plug in USB devices, they don't show up.
Is USB on Udoo Neo known to work ?
I thought I'd ask before trying to isolate it (I'll download "udoobuntu").
Please share any tips on how to isolate the problem.
It could be a personal problem : I bought it from EBay.

TBH I'm not sure, I'll dig mine out and see if I can recreate it, I had issues with it previously for something completely different and haven't had time to get back to it to test it further. I have the Neo Full (both wifi and eth). Other i.MX6 variants work fine with USB.

Unfortunately this is an ancient kernel with vendor patches, the difference between 3.14 with vendor patches and 4.16 is like comparing an orange to a carrot.. You might also like to try the 4.17.2 kernel on it's ways to testing "dnf --enablerepo=updates-testing upgrade kernel*" I'm going to try to get back to mine later this week, unfortunately I have quite a long todo list for the week.

Yeah, I just used it to verify that the hardware works. Fedora ARM rules ! ;-)

So I managed to find mine and have a try.
I'm still seeing the same issues I saw previously [1] but with a couple of power cycles it eventually booted to a point I could login.
With a bit of poking around each time before it died I had a bit of a play and a few reboots before the file system was no longer recoverable I did mange to work out the following about usb. It actually works if you have the device plugged in from the outset, I tried an input device and a usb stick. So I suspect a GPIO or regulator isn't wired up via the DT properly.
This was with F-28 GA release so I'm going to try the next nightly rawhide with 4.18 and a newer u-boot when I get a moment.

Yes, it works if the USB is plugged in on boot. I didn't noticed that.

Just a follow up on this. I pulled some patches in to 4.18/rawhide and the latest images with 4.18 rc4 are booting and seems to be stable for me.
Fabian if you get a chance I'd like to see if you see similar. For reference I used Fedora-Minimal-armhfp-Rawhide-20180710.n.0-sda.raw.xz
So now back to the original problem. So USB doesn't hotplug for me either but a device works if it's there from boot. I seem to remember a similar issue on another device, I'll see if I can work that out when I get a moment, I suspect there's a GPIO that needs to be wired up in the DT or similar.
Also bluetooth doesn't work for me but I also know what the fix is for that so I'll put together a patch when I get a moment.
Let me know if there's anything else, I've only just got it up so I've not had a chance to look too closely. I also intend to get Zephyr [1] running on the Cortex-M4 processor and probably look at Open-AMP [2] for it too just FYI.

FYI, I just tried USB on the Udoo Neo with the latest kernel : 4.18.5-200.fc28.armv7hl ... and USB hotplug works !
