Question - testing writes to systemd journal in mock (for build in Koji) (re-sent)

(re-sending as previous email was in HTML text mode, please disregard previous email if received) Hello, The `rust-libsystemd` [1] package runs some upstream tests as part of `%{check}` which involve writing to `/run/systemd/journal/socket`. Running in a system loaded with systemd, these tests pass. However, in a mock chroot in Koji (with Rawhide target), these tests fail due to `/run/systemd/journal/socket` not found, with full log at [2]. Is there currently a way to expose `systemd-journald` endpoints within the mock chroot, or a common workaround for this type of issue (maybe manually create the needed file within `%{check}` before running the tests)? If not, excluding the tests for the RPM build would be sufficient as done in [3] - the upstream tests can be verified locally whenever updating the package. Just wanted to check if there is currently a way that wouldn't require excluding the tests during the Koji build. Mock: fc 31 outdated config file

Hello, I just upgraded from FC30 to FC 31. it seems that mock's "default.cfg" is still pointing to the FC30 config. cd /etc/mock/ [az@dell5000 mock]$ ls -l ./default.cfg lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 Nov 24 12:52 ./default.cfg -> fedora-30-x86_64.cfg [az@dell5000 mock]$ uname -a Linux dell5000 5.5.16-200.fc31.x86_64 #1 ... ... I have a package where some tests fail due to various things not being present in a mock container, e.g, /dev/log doesn't exist. I can just disable these tests downstream, but upstream might take a change if I can wrap them in a "if !mock" condition. Mock v2.2 release

Hello maintainers, I'm pleased to announce that a new bugfix release v2.2 of mock tool, A 'simple' chroot build environment manager for building RPMs, is out. There are few important fixes and changes that I'll mention here directly. - The /etc/mock/site-defaults.cfg file was moved from mock to mock-core-configs. - Mock got several bug-fixes/features to work in the Fedora Toolbox environment (rootless container) _by default_, now you can for example just: $ toolbox enter $> sudo dnf install -y mock $> mock -r epel-7-x86_64 --chain \ https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/mock-core-configs/32.6/1.fc3... \ https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/mock/2.2/1.fc33/src/mock-2.2... - Mock got also few fixes to make it work in privileged podman/docker container. - Some fixes were applied to fix builds on targets that have incompatible RPMDB backend (will be needed once we have SQLite RPMDB backend in Rawhide).
