Documentation on how to create cloud images

Hi. It would be great if there was some kind of README in cloud-kickstarts git repo and/or wiki & Cloud Guide that has some docs on how to create cloud image. I've tried to build it myself with livemedia-creator and got "Only url install method is currently supported. Please fix your kickstart file." error. Other thing is that cloud-kickstarts should probably be packaged or merged with spin-kickstarts. Alexey

root filesystem resizeing at boot time

Hi All, Openstack is able to boot the same image with different disk sizes. The instance's disk size is depends on the selected flavor type. With the default flavor types you can have 20Gib(m1.small), 40Gib (m1.medium), 80Gib (m1.large), 160 GiB (m1.xlarge) Disk sizes. I am looking for an OpenStack friendly Fedora image which is able to utilize all space on the first disk(vda), without any additional manual steps. The file system should be ready for use before I login to the instance. According to this presentation http://www.slideshare.net/openstack/os-summit-portlandimages, the best time for resizing the file systems is at the initrd time. All Fedora jeos images I tried so far just uses maximum 10 GiB even on a 160 GiB disk after the first boot. I would like to use the same image for all disk sizes. Do you know about a working auto-resize capable Fedora Image ? Best Regards, Attila

F18 cloud-init proposed rebase update

Hi, I've been working through debugging a number of issues with cloud-init 0.7.1 as currently packaged for F18. The most major problem is that it no longer seems possible to define a user via the user-defined cloud-config data and have that user get an SSH authorized_keys correctly installed, when the SSH key comes from the Ec2 datasource. This is a regression from the version shipped in F17 AFAICS, and it's fixed upstream[1]. There are a number of other F18 related fixes upstream which would be valuable, including: - Improved hostname handling (doesn't truncate hostnames containing ".")[2] - Fedora locale, hostname and tz related fixes[3] - Fedora systemd, blkid and sysconfig fixes (rev 809)[3] So I'm proposing a rebase to bzr rev 809, which will include fixes for the issues above, and probably many more by the looks of the changelogs.
