Hi, Don't know if this last post made it. I've narrowed it down to something in the network_config, pre and post SNIPPETS. I have seen bug report 1117640 however no data is missing as in that case, I've done a cobbler system getks and all the data is there as far as I can tell. I pulled all three SNIPPETs out and replaced them with the proper network kickstart line and the error about an illegal IP address string is gone. The install has other issues but that's not this problem. So it's something in the network SNIPPETs that is causing the illegal IP address string error when trying to install CentOS 7. Hi I suspect kickstart support in ubuntu is immature at present. It should get better. As with all things cobbler you need the time and patience to experiment and test things out. I went with debian installer because we need to support ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04. Ubuntu ks only turned up in 14.04. However i managed to reuse most of my centos snippets for ubuntu by just embedding them in a copy of the post seed file. So the change to d-i was not so painful and not too much reworking required. For the cobbler system definitions for ubuntu i had to put default gateways in the interface rather than the global networking, and it needs the nameserver fields to be filled in too (rather than just putting a resolv.conf inplace which gets overwritten by resolver). Profile not working - getting menu instead

Hi All, Cobbler 2.6.3 source: ?, ? build time: Fri Jul 18 22:59:43 2014 I have a system which is bound to a profile but when the system PXE boots, it goes to the PXE boot menu of profiles rather than booting the profile. When I select the profile from the menu, the build progress with the only problem being that the Netboot option does not get changed to False after but build. I suspect these two problems are related in that both are failures in the passing of parameters between the client and server but that's where my theory ends. Any ideas? Backups??

Is there a proper way to backup and restore a cobbler server? My starting point is to simply tar up the following: /etc/cobbler /var/www/cobbler /var/log/cobbler /var/lib/cobbler Am I missing anything? Is there a published procedure I should follow? -- Thanks, Kirk

/var/www/cobbler/pub and 'cobbler replicate' ?

How come the contents of /var/www/cobbler/pub aren't replicated by default? Is there some other place that does replicate that we should be using for miscellaneous scripts (e.g. RAID configuration) that are required after PXE-booting a new node? CentOS 7 unknown distribution due to 'centos linux'

CentOS 7 puts CentOS Linux in /etc/redhat-release. The distro string is 'centos linux '. cobbler check is looking for 'centos' so it is an Unknown distribution. Using 2.6.5 from EPEL 7.

cobbler reposync busted for RHSM repositories

The repo type has to be yum rather than rhn, and the necessary certificate options (included by yumoption) are not passed thru to the dot-origin repo file The command "cobbler reposync" fails, but if I run the reposync command by hand, pointing at the /etc/yum.repos file contailing all the necessary optional parameters, it works. Any suggestions ?
