For completeness' sake, this allowed me to get into the installer (which for some reason only let me choose text mode or VNC, even though I was at a workstation. Go figure). Basically, I added http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/17/Fedora/i386/os/ as the inst.repo value and voila!
