All,
I've created an initial Debian package configuration for Cockpit and
uploaded it to an Launchpad PPA:

Thanks for doing that work. Cool :)
I'm doing all of my packaging work on Debian Jessie and uploading
to
Launchpad which builds it for Trusty (latest LTS) and Utopic (latest
"stable"). It's currenlty built against a Git clone of the master
branch from yesterday, but I'll be switching it to use a release tarball
soon. Any suggestions/patches are welcome and I'm open to including the
packaging configuration upstream once I have it a little less hackish.
One of the things we do in Fedora is have a main cockpit package that
depends on several sub packages for various parts and features of
Cockpit. This is a work in progress, so it's totally legit to package it
as one package for now, and break it out later.
What is this about:
0 4 * * * root [ -x /usr/bin/cockpit_maintenance ] &&
/usr/bin/cockpit_maintenance
I don't think we need to have any cron jobs.
