Hallo zusammen, ich wollte heute über Terminal die neuen nvidia-Treiber installieren, da wurde mir folgendes ausgegeben: Existing lock /var/run/yum.pid: another copy is running as pid 2709. Another app is currently holding the yum lock; waiting for it to exit... Another app is currently holding the yum lock; waiting for it to exit... Another app is currently holding the yum lock; waiting for it to exit...

Die letzte Zeile setzt sich immer weiter fort und ich wüsste gern wie ich das abbrechen kann. Da ich das als root gemacht hab, will ich nicht einfach das Fenster schließen, da man sich ja von der Konsole immer mit exit abmelden soll. Weiß jemand auf die Schnelle Rat?

... das Problem hatte ich vor ein paar Tagen auch. Kann es sein, dass zusätzlich MegaByte-weise Daten herruntergeladen werden? Das liegt am Update-Repository. Nach der folgenden Änderung, war das Problem behoben: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showpost.php?p=910642&postcount=10

Aber warum dann yum im Hintergrund weitergeleaufen ist, weiß ich auch nicht. Kann es vielleicht sein, dass ne Softwareinstallation nicht geklappt hat und deswegen yum im Hintergrund weiterlief.

Wenn Du das Terminal schließt, ist auch der root weg. Als wer Du grade arbeitest sagt Dir entweder das Prompt ("root@...") oder auch der Befehl "whoami".

Super danke für die Hilfe, also jetzt wird folgendes ausgegeben: Exiting on user cancel. [root@localhost merry]# service yum-updatesd stop bash: service: command not found

Kann ich irgendwie herausfinden, ob ich noch als root angemeldet bin ohne es zu wissen, nachdem ich das Terminal geschlossen hab?
