Solang ticket
by angella inzinga
I am working with the Solang group for a help->about page, and icons. They
requested simple and stylish, and a few weeks ago I gave them a few designs
to pick from (I was really just trying to refine what direction 'simple and
stylish' they wanted to go). The wiki I read for this group asks that logo
work get sent into the community for review, so here's what I hope to
submit. Topbar 2 in a 48X48. Topbar 128 is bigger, clearer. The last one is
the help->about image.
They chose the crisp and flat polaroid design, not a more distressed one. I
still think I need to soften the corners, tho. But other than that I think
they are OK? I don't know, this is my first attempt at logo design. All
files have a .svg and a .gif, but are terribly disorganized at the moment
and I just attached whatever I found first. Some constructive feedback would
be awesome. (including if there is a better way you like to have files sent
around???)
Thanks
Angie

Design Team meetings on IRC?
by John Poelstra
Reading the other recent posts it seems there are a few unresolved
issues that we need to get rolling on for Fedora 12.
Does the Design Team have regular weekly meetings?
If not would it consider having them to discuss the schedule for Fedora
12 and resolve which approach will be used to design the artwork for
Fedora 12? I'd be willing to help organize and lead the meetings for
the first month to help get things off the ground.
Thanks,
John

Constatine Brainstorming
by Storari Samuele
Hi all,
I've studied a little Constantine the Emperor and I think maybe we can work on the Roman Art Style and not only havin focus on the mosaic, there're the basrelief or the Monumental sketch or the Bas-relief decoreting the Constantine Column
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Column_of_Constantine
let me know if this ideas may work.
Samuele

Constantine
by Nicu Buculei
I am sure you are all already aware, the announcement is official since
yesterday when Paul delivered in in front of the FUDCon audience, the
release name for Fedora 12 was voted Constantine.
When I think about it, I had in my mind Byzantine culture (Roman emperor
Constantine the Great) and I think a graphic in the style of a Byzantine
mosaic can be an effective approach. The major trick is to leave out any
religious implications and stay only with cultural references.
Think of something like
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gauiscaecilius/2139332420/ but with some
modernist imagery and some blue.
It also can work like this
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gauiscaecilius/2140942774/ with the symbols
for our 4 foundations.
Get a better idea from those photos:

I talked about this yesterday evening (night) with Mo and Paul and today
with Samuele (FUDCon is awesome for such things) and it seems the idea
hs some potential.

logistics list
by John Poelstra
The logistics(a)lists.fedoraproject.org mailing list has been created to
meet the requirements discussed here:
http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-advisory-board/2009-July/msg00000.html
Anyone is welcome to join the list at:
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/logistics and
participants are strongly encouraged to use it only for important topics
that need to be coordinated across teams.
I have also take the liberty to sign up leads from each the teams that
attended the Fedora 11 Release Readiness meetings (assuming they will be
the same for Fedora 12) as well as the people who have expressed an
interest in helping with or learning more about the Fedora Zikula CMS
implementation. Feel free to adjust things by adding or removing yourself.
