Re: [Design-team] F13 Rockets

Hi,
what do you mean by 'good approach'.
The lines are 'used' to organise the icons in groups (by thematics) for convenience at work.
If you want to get fun out of this you may try to arrange them in groups (by themes), horizontally and vertically aligned and also along the lines (something like a Sudoku without digits).
I made this in blue as well, and yet I am not sure that it is better.

i agree with Nico.. the voilet color is quite dark tone..if it goes on with light lavender then maybe it will be a good approch. as well as the lines are not showing good effect. either the contrast of colors maybe.. it would be good without adding them.

Please don't. Violet is a dangerous color to use as background, many people do
not react well to it. (touches of violet are ok, violet as dominant color not)

Hi,
This black & Violet bi-colour scale is really great.
It goes with everything.

Mairin, your newest wallpaper is REALLY great! The best one so far - and maybe the best I have seen in the past 4 releases :)

Hi,
In my view it is a little bit intrusive, butreducing the contrast and/or the colour saturation will spoil the impression.
Maybe the picture is too big - perhaps smaller will look better.
The rest of the part looks very impressive and goes well with the icons.

Those with violet are sickness colors. Except green and yellow also exist
naturally in non-sick contexts, while violet does not (except for flowers that
are not that common and are usually violet points, not large surfaces)

Hi,
but when it is extinguished with black it looks great.
Just don't tell me that somebody will commit something after watching the background.

Re: [Design-team] Why don't we justify our wall papers so far
by Hristo Petkov
Hi,Why don't we justify our wall papers so far.
I am ready to justify mine right away.
The wall paper is an ad of the OS - NOT of the Designer, the Artist, or Freelancer, or whoever it may be (hobbyist in my case). So we shall all forget about our Ego ('leave it on the hanger' at the lobby) and do everything in benefit of the users.
JustificationThe attached picture represents a spaceship traveling on a perfect orbit (the exact front and rear view suggest this) - or this may mean also that the person drawing the picture cannot make 3D designs, but this is another theme.Yet I am not sure that making this 3D will make it look better and will improve the message.
The form of the ships is straight and clean (there are no 'projections' exposing the ship to dangers when making complex manoeuvres) - respectively to the OS there are not projects where some .exe Troyans and viruses may stick up (or at least the risk is reduced to acceptable limits).
The perfect orbit suggests perfect control on the machine (by analogy on the computer through the OS) - reliability, flawless operation, thrust in the designers (respectively in the software engineers having developed the OS), etc.
The principle of operation suggests that there is no way of running out of fuel (the 'fuel' is all around you) and by analogy to the OS - there is no way of remaining without software - software is 'all around you' and there are always people who are ready to help you with pleasure.
The straight lines representing the two energy sources of the vacuum suggest (as straight lines) sustainability, power and personal dignity, and feeling of traveling, of doing the things by yourself and managing with the problems.
Extracting the energy of the vacuum suggests that everything is possible if you know what you are doing.
Light is dominating all over the picture and yet the contrast is reduced to be convenient for working (by the way this is not so easy - you may try it).
Light is the classic symbol of enlightenment, of knowledge, and creative thinking and so is the OS and the Apps and Browsers going therewith.
The dominating blue color is typical for Fedora distros - this is obvious - and the Fedora logo will go well on it.
The 'partitions' made as a result of the 'plasma beams' are convenient for placing the icons on the desktop and grouping them by theme, purpose, etc.
Hoping that I am not boring,Thank you for the attentionRegards

Re: [Design-team] The last two PNGs of F13 Rockets
by Hristo Petkov
Hi,
RE: The two PNGs
In my view these two PNGs resemble very much black holes (at least the deformation in the space and the gravitation suggests so), and a black hole means information paradox 'hanging' in science unresolved, and the information paradox means high possibility of losing information in time and space (nothing is at it looks like and as we know it) - and I am not quite sure that this is an appropriate message for an Ad of an OS.
RE: Keeping it more simple
Of course keeping it more simple is much better. (see the example attached herewith).
Regards.

More reworking - it's a bit more swirly / the rockets come together at a
more distinct point. Before they were about to come together but not
quite there.
I have a blue and a multi-color-neon-kinda version as well:

Re: [Design-team] CLA
by Hristo Petkov
Hi,
I found this Contribution License Agreement, but I have a question:
What does 'perpetual' mean. In most of the countries the copyright licenses are for 50 years or so.
Just in 10 years the computer will most probably walk around you in your house saying 'Yes master' and 'As you wish' and none of today's software will go on it. Anyway.
There is no button to sign the CLA. Pls. advise.
Best regards,
Christo Petrkov
