internet censorship statement for fedoraproject.org front page (was Re: FUDcon Board Meeting)

Hi folks,
Regarding adding a statement about SOPA on the front page of
fedoraproject.org -

We were talking about this in #fedora-design, a few points came up:
- Jared, can you write the statement with the broad header of 'Interent
Censorship', mentioning *both* SOPA and PIPA since both are threats?
- From a website design point-of-view, the best way of incorporating the
statement is to have a heading about it in the orange ticker tape on the
website as well as have the default slide in the main slide area that
relates to internet censorship. Both should click through to the
statement Jared is writing.
- Does anybody have ideas for graphics to go along with the slide text?
Some ideas we had:
- keep it completely black or a black gradient
- have a black background with outlines of people that have 'censored'
labels on top of them (and maybe put an outline of beefy somewhere in
there too)
- (okay this is silly) have an artsy-looking field of hot dog-less
buns
What do you think?

The concept was awsome... Its nice but the brightness is a problem. I think
the fireworks wallpaper should be bit darker. So then user can feel a bit
release to the eye.

I personally don't like the wallpapers at all. No offense to the creator. I would like them better if they did not have so much activity and weren't so cartoony. The F16 wallpaper was awesome. It was the best yet.
Thanks!!!

There was a bug in the 1.0.0-1 package that prevented it from working on
i686 machines. Please update to 1.0.0-2.

MyPaint 1.0 is available
by Christoph Wickert
Dear Design Team members,
today I have a very special gift for you: MyPaint 1.0. I know that many
of you have been waiting for this one and I'm sorry it took so long, but
I've put a lot of effort into it.
Unfortunately I cannot push it to Fedora 15 or 16 because the UI has
changed and brushes were removed/renamed/updates. This constitutes a
"change in the user experience" which is not allowed by our update
guidelines. I therefor have created a MyPaint repository at
http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/cwickert/mypaint/
To get the latest and greatest mypaint, please download
http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/cwickert/mypaint/fedora-mypaint.repo
to /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-mypaint.repo and run
$ yum update mypaint
Rawhide users don't need to do this, they should see 1.0 on the mirrors
already.
Some notes about this release:
* The "Deevad" brush set was renamed to "Set #2".
* The "Ramon" set was renamed to "Set#1".
* I have added the additional Ramon2 brush set.
* If you order your mypaint package today, you even get the
"Concept Design" set on top FOR FREE! Can you believe it? ;)
* If you are missing your favorite brush, download and install the
"08" package from http://wiki.mypaint.info/Brush_Packages
* You can change the names and the order of the brushes by editing
~/.mypaint/brushes/order.conf
* I am thinking about adding more backgrounds from
http://wiki.mypaint.info/Background_Patterns
Do you think it is worth it or will the package become to big
then? It has already become huge in this release, ~ 38 MB.
If you are having any problems with the packages, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Christoph
P.S.: If somebody wants to become co-maintainer of the package, he is
more than welcome. I really would like to see a designer as additional
maintainer.

Hi ryan,
You posted your report on the wrong mail list. The better place is
ask.fedoraproject.org. Before submitting a bug report, visit
bugz.fedoraproject.org/anaconda to avoid a duplication. Hope it helps.
