*ahem* jokes aside though... I've written the beginning of a small tutorial on the wiki for Inkscape beginners to change the ribbon.
I think I'll wait until next week's meeting for feedback on these mockups, and if there's no one who hates this version of the ribbon, I'll use it. :)
