PolicyKit-authentication-agents in Fedora

I just imported lxpolkit into CVS, but it's not yet build because I
don't want to break anything.
We now have 3 PolicyKit-authentication-agents in Fedora:
* polkit-gnome
* polkit-kde
* lxpolkit
As you can see lxpolkit has the shortest name and will therefore be
chosen by yum if anything requires PolicyKit-authentication-agent (ATM
system-config-samba and system-config-services). There is no problem
having several agents installed but we need to make sure that only one
gets started at a time.
Suggestion:
GNOME and KDE use their agents, everything else, for example window
managers like icewm or openbox, gets lxpolkit.
Rationale:
1. lxpolkit has the least dependencies. Currently polkit-gnome
doesn't require anything but gtk2 ether, but I guess it will
require GConf2 again once the group policy editor is ready
(Please correct me if my assumption is wrong)
2. lxpolkit is the smallest package.
3. lxpolkit will be pulled in anyway due to the shortest name.
Implementation:
1. Desktops are to have their authentication agent as required or
default in comps, so the proper agent gets installed with the
desktop.
2. The desktop files in /etc/xdg/autostart get OnlyShowIn/NotShowIn
keys:
* polkit-gnome gets OnlyShowIn=GNOME; (currently
NotShowIn=KDE;)
* polkit-kde gets OnlyShowIn=KDE; (done)
* lxpolkit gets NotShowIn=GNOME;KDE; (done, LXDE is
currently not supported as OnlyShowIn environment, this
requires desktop-file-utils >= 0.16 which is only
available rawhide and F-13 updates-testing.)
3. Changes are released in one update
Does this all sound reasonable? Did I miss something?

Gwibber by default?

Heya,
I'd like to add Gwibber to the LiveCD, and default install. What do
people think? Is there a better client available for GNOME? Do we have
room for it?

Accounts dialog - help

Hi,
accounts-dialog doesn't have a help button and I don't understand the
difference between different types of accounts - administrator,
standard and supervised. Can we add a tooltip and a help button to help
guide users on what these actually mean?

This story with the completely blind user has another question - how will such a user work with the computer screen and on the computer at all. Anyway.
RE: Live CD
The Live CD is more than O.K. In my view a specification or a quick reference guide in style expert system should be done what the newcomer may or should do after installing the Live CD.
This Expert Guide could be something of the kind:
If you are this and tthis and this case (i686 PC architecture, Desktop, Freelancer) - you may do this and this (install the most appropriate APPs)
If you are a server case - proceed with this and this. ... And don't forget to acquire competitive advantage on the market by installing ClamAV and ClamTk, etc.
If you intend to organise SSH tunneling through HTTPs at 7th level of firewall protection - install Apache server, and do this and this, etc.

Hi,
www.sf.net reports 40 viruses under Linux (for further details go to their side) some of them very interesting - through Firefox and going into the system.
In my view this should be ?40?

Hi,
Clamav is ideal to test compatibility of the various kernels of the distros (at least in terms of clamav).
Under fc11 I succeeded (with your help) to update the Virus Definitions to 31 March 2010, but the AV engine is an old one (0.95.3). About the next one that ClamTk advises me to install (0.96) I found .rpm files for fc14.
Where can I find 0.96 compatible to work with fc11 ? Google finds nothing on the net.
And speaking about virus cleaning, what about the spam cleaning.
With every day and in every way the Internet is becoming more and more unbearable in terms of spam of any kind.
Thus for example I found on the net a lot of clamav versions for one and the same distro and it is difficult to orient oneself 'which is which' (the date of the file compilation is of little or no help).
It is obvious that nobody can clean up the whole Internet but everybody could at least clean up his own computer and website, and website blogs, and website error messages of OS that are no longer supported and so on (or at least make some efforts in that direction).
I am cleaning tmy computer every day and it is 'the good old mess'.
