Reproducer for bug #1390198

Hi, we are currently struggling with an issue causing TopIcons Plus, a Gnome Shell extension, to crash [1][2]. As this is a serious issue possibly affecting many users I would like to ask the Workstation WG for a help. At the moment we need a reliable reproducer. If you can reproduce, or even if you can reliably crash with this extension enabled and reliably get no crashes without, that would be helpful feedback in the upstream tracker. F27 Beta blocker fixing update karma requests

Hi folks! There's a few updates in updates-testing right now which fix F27 blockers and could do with testing and karma: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2017-9a6df5d962 (freeipa, fixes some deployment bugs and should fix enrolment via kickstart) https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2017-0da1ebbe4f (kernel, fixes initial-setup on Raspberry Pi, but karma from all hardware is valuable) https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2017-d8c9ac15c3 (GNOME 3.26.0 megaupdate) - we're not sure yet whether we're going to include this in Beta, but if folks could test it and report any new bugs or give positive karma if it updates OK and doesn't seem to have any major new bugs, that'd be great. What to do about GNOME for Beta?

Hey folks! So, Beta slipped today; the next go/no-go will be Sept 21. Given this, we probably have a window to get 3.26.0 into the Beta with an FE, if that seems like a good idea and you can have it ready to go by, say, Monday. Whether we do or not, we need to fix https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1490072 , because it was accepted as a Beta blocker. I *did* send a build with the patches from the upstream bug to Koji: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=969735 but I didn't submit an update for it yet because I thought it'd be better to co-ordinate with you folks. That build required a buildroot override for pipewire, so if we wanted to send that build out as the fix, we'd have to include pipewire in the update also. Roughly speaking I see three options: 1. Do all of 3.26.0, plus the patches for 1490072, as a mega-update, submit an FE to get it into Beta 2. Just send mutter 3.26.0 + pipewire out as an update to fix 1490072 3. Do a build of mutter 3.25.91 + 1490072 patches to fix that bug What do you folks think? Thanks! langpacks installation UX

Hi, Currently the handling and installation of langpacks seems suboptimal for Live installations: - `dnf install libreoffice-langpack-ja` (without weak/rich deps) - `dnf install langpacks-ja` (uses weak/rich deps) This was discussed a bit in the Flock "Fedora i18n" session. Some possible solutions include: - Include Libreoffice langpacks for major languages in Workstation Live - Do a post-install dnf/rpm transaction in an anaconda plugin via `initial-setup` - Make `gnome-initial-setup` induce a PackageKit command to install langpacks for the chosen language (seems tricky to make this distro agnostic) - Make `gnome-control-center` install langpacks when switching desktop language. - Does `gnome-software` need any additional special support for getting langpacks metapackages installed? (It already has: Addons -> Localization)? I would like to discuss this here to get more input on a solid solution to this problem. Jens

Workstation OSTree image

Hi, during review of F27 Release Blocking Deliverables [1] I have received a comment about missing Workstation OSTree image. As I am not aware of any approved Change in F27 or F26 release delivering this image I would like to check what is the current status. I have found such image in F26 release [2] however no such image has been ever built for F27 release AFAIK [3]. So, I would like to ask whether the Workstation OSTree image is something we support in F26 and would like to deliver in F27 as well. If so, why the image is not present in F27 nightly builds ?
