GNOME Photos unfortunate state

Hello team, After trying GNOME Design which also comes to Design Suite as inheritance from Workstation, it appears the application is really unworthy for production use with the following reasons: - Unacceptable long indexing time to display photos. (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-photos/-/issues/162) - The current photos overview lacked date time for taken pictures to avoid confusion - The RPM version has oversized head bar when pluggin an external device import photos while flatpak version looks fine. (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-photos/-/issues/172) - The overall performance is very slow just to view local photos from Pictures folder. For those reasons, GNOME Photos will need a replacement by alternative as default for Workstation unless the upstream maintainer addresses the above issue. KDE Starts December With Numerous Fixes, Other Desktop Refinements

This week saw many fixes landing for the KDE desktop components along with some UI tweaking and other alterations. This week KDE developer Nate Graham called for KDE to embrace simplicity by default in an effort to appeal to more novice users. He's also been wanting to squash more "annoying bugs" and paper-cuts for the KDE desktop. Drawing glitches in virtual machine and Firefox in f35

Hi, since I upgraded to Fedora 35 I immediately noticed drawing glitches in a virtual machine (virt-manager) and since an update to Firefox 94.0 also there (for example when opening menus), thus I guess it has something to do with the graphics drivers or something like that. I run X.org under MATE and I had never any such issue before the upgrade to f35 (I do run many virtual machines for various testing reasons, thus I'd surely notice). I tried to record the screen, but the created video does not exhibit the problem. The graphics stack is kinda foggy for me, I know basically nothing about it. I do not know where to start the investigation and what to look for. Any suggestion, please? F36 Workstation call for changes

Hi everyone! The Workstation Working Group would love to hear what everyone in the community is planning for Fedora Workstation 36. Specifically, we want to hear about: 1. technical or design changes which may impact other teams or components, or where you will need help from the Working Group 2. new features that might be interesting to users or developers We mostly want to hear about changes where there is some ambition to deliver the change for F36, as opposed to wishlist items. However, you don't have to be 100% confident that a change will land, and we'd sooner hear about plans than not hear about them.
