I'm not sure where it's best to report but today I wanted to probe the
progress of Fedora MIPS but since I'm not registered to this list
I opted for the web archive. The first non-spam message I could
find is from March, everything after that is just noise.
I suppose members of the list don't see them in their mail clients,
but the archive is a bit encumbered. Looking at the web archives of
mailing lists I subscribed to, there doesn't seem to be much noise (I
searched a couple classic spammy phrases in each). Maybe the mips
list is not monitored?
My name is Rémi Verschelde (IRC nickname "Akien", FAS "akien"). I just
joined this mailing list with the intent to become a Fedora packager.
I am already an experienced RPM packager and developer (+ QA, bug
triage, a bit of everything) for the Mageia distribution, as well as a
developer for several free software projects (Godot Engine , Lugaru
, Jump 'n Bump , OpenDungeons , Minilens and a few others
-- i.e. mostly games and game development software).
I would like to start by maintaining packages for my upstream projects
in Fedora (jumpnbump is being reviewed , I have a COPR for godot
). As I package many libre games in Mageia , I would also gladly
maintain some of them in Fedora.
I am not a Fedora user (my main distribution being Mageia), but I am
involved in the Fedora Games SIG and Rust SIG. With the latter I try
to ensure that Rust packaging in Fedora and Mageia stays in sync (so
far mostly syncing Mageia with jistone's Fedora work, but by getting
involved upstream I try to bring an added value from the Mageia
I still have some docs to read about becoming a Fedora packager, so
far I've experienced the policies mostly by discussing on IRC with
I probably missed some kind of announcement, but this started happening
[zaitcev@lembas liberasurecode.master]$ fedpkg srpm
/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/fedora/client/bodhi.py:48: DeprecationWarning: fedora.client.bodhi has been deprecated. Please use bodhi.client.bindings instead.
All the packages are up to date... or so I think (fedpkg-1.28-1.fc25.noarch,
python-fedora-0.9.0-3.fc25.noarch). Is there something I need to steal from
Rawhide or what?
