If allowing the ELN maintainers to fix build failures when the
maintainer is unresponsive is "unreasonable," then I guess it will
never build and this is all a pointless exercise. Setting up impossible
requirements doesn't seem fair to the ELN developers.
I don't think I've mentioned the word 'unresponsive' anywhere, please
don't move the goalposts here.
