shrug.. i was just pointing out one of the primary reasons i see fc3
users are still using xmms.
I'll let other people decide if this is an important enough reason to
keep xmms in Core or not. Perhaps the gtk2 based beep can be used
instead to fill the same role so that the older gtk libs can be
removed from core.
And i'm not even sure this is a simple gst plugin fix. Does rhythmbox
even play audio cds? Typically what i see happening when novice users
try to play cds on their gnome fc3 desktops is gnome-cd will open up
and start accessing the audio cd. If their system doesn't have an
analog audio connection between the soundcard and the cd unit ....
there is no sound.... gnome-cd plays.. but there is no sound. Seems
to afflict a number of users who have integrated audio hardware
instead of an actual soundcard.. but I can't speak first hand since I
don't have any systems with integrated audio. And doing a quick ldd
against gnome-cd and i'm not seeing any obvious libgst* references
that would indicate gnome-cd is actually using gst at all. So I'm not
sure this is an easy gst plugin fix.
