After a BIOS flash, my dc7700 will run w/ or w/o acpi enabled, but it
feels like it is running at 300MHz or less.
Starting udev takes almost 5 minutes.
Review the BIOS settings? Mine can get into a "safe mode" if it thinks
booting failed, and that includes lowering the CPU clock speed as well as
making the memory slower.
