Text console port of GTK+ : http://zemljanka.sourceforge.net/cursed/
Interesting for anaconda, redhat-config-*.
Perhaps for (Cambridge++)++

Why? Anaconda already has a text mode, and by sticking with a native text mode, you have a much better chance of having dialogs fitting in a sane manner.

Agreed.
But don't tell me that some,small,irrational part of your consciousness didn't gasp "that would be unbelievably cool!" when you saw that puppy. 8)

True, but -tui and -cmd versions of *all* the redhat-config tools, along with an audit trail of changes would be nice. AFAIK, right now it is basically necessary to save /etc in CVS or similar if one wants a record of what is going on. (And that still neglects state changes.) This is a step backwards from earlier attempts (linuxconf, etc.).

Seems to me that anaconda in text mode doesn't have all feature of anaconda in graphic mode.

I would like to see rhgb in text mode. Is there any plan ? :-)

Yes, but rebasing the entire text mode isn't the solution to that problem.

Not currently.

There have been a lot of feature requests to display the boot messages in a window in rhgb, but this is the first reverse of that to be requested.

That would then have to be "rhngb" them, wouldn't it? 8)
Or just "rhb." Or LILO.8)

I've seen many request for quiet boot/init system. Something like rhgb does now, but without the delay/overhead of X.
Speaking of which, any plans to improve the frambuffer console support for those of us that like it? How about a frambuffer version of rhgb :) Nice pretty penguins, and a simple status window instead of pages of text messages.

http://www.bootsplash.org/ would be a good solution. It's being used by SuSE and Mandrake, too.
