Hi everyone,
I have just orphaned magic-wormhole (the original one written in Python) and its dependencies. I no longer use it, I have no time to fix the packages for new Python versions, and upstream is pretty much dead since they started porting the project to Rust.
- python-magic-wormhole - python-magic-wormhole-mailbox-server - python-magic-wormhole-transit-relay - python-txtorcon - python-spake2 - python-hkdf
There is an alternative Go implementation of the "Wormhole Protocol" (wormhole-william), for which eclipseo already submitted a review request. It seems to be better maintained than the Python original, if we want to have a Wormhole client in Fedora: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1922806
The official port of magic-wormhole to Rust also seems to be progressing, we might want to package that one instead once it's released: https://github.com/magic-wormhole/magic-wormhole.rs

Hello Fabio (or whom it may concern),
I am interested in maintaining the python-magic-wormhole package, and it is along with its dependencies. I continue to use and love the project. There has been an uptick in activity in the project and I have started maintaining a Copr package (linked at the bottom) for it. It does seem that I would need a sponsor to be able to do the packaging.
Looking forward to the next steps
Kyle

Hello!
The package has been removed from the Fedora repositories almost 2 years ago, so they will need to go through re-review. That would be your next step, if you would like them to be added back :)

It is under review: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2327756
co-maintainers and people to push the review for it and its dependencies forward are likely welcome.
Hi I'm working on the upstream Tahoe-LAFS project (upstream from wormhole) and two of us are interested in Fedora packaging, so please feel free to let me know if you're not getting what you need to move forward.

I bring news from upstream...
In the upstream meeting, we noted that we can't see the build logs for: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/g/fedora-review/fedora-review-232775...
If you could re-run the build and send us the logs that would help.
The rust implementation is not feature-complete, so the python implementation is not a port.
Also , in general, this should explain the status of the various implementations: https://magic-wormhole.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ecosystem.html if this is unclear, please open an issue and let us know.
