Highlights:

* Release Notes: Great job done by Release Note beat writers and
translators. Release Notes for FC5t1 have finalised and will be
available in five languages.
* DocsRawhide: Maintained documents in CVS are now built into Webpages,
updated every hour. To avoid potential confusion about the status of the
documents, public access to the site will be restricted until alternate
stylesheets are in place to visibly distinguish the Rawhide drafts from
completed documents.
* Packaging: Work is ongoing to enhance the Fedora document build
infrastructure to create RPMs for shipping documentation. Technical
issues are being discussed on the main mailing list (fedora-docs-list)
as they arise. Anyone with a interest in this area is welcome to join in
and add their input.

Proposal for document entities

wow, release notes

This morning I came in to run the final build of the test1 release
notes. It is beautiful.
Five languages in one CVS with one Makefile to rule them all.
And this was done the hard way! Imagine when we integrate the
documentation XML into the same workbench system that is used for
translating the strings in Fedora applications.
Thanks to all involved for your help. I'll send a proper announcement
and appreciation to the test list following the release of test1.
You'll notice that the content is the same across the original English
and the translated release notes (Italian, Japanese, Russian, and
Simplified Chinese). To do this, we had to freeze the content and give
it time to be translated.
An updated release notes with content that is currently in the Wiki
*will be* available when test1 is released. Once I have tagged this
content in CVS, it will freeze again for a while. If anyone wants to
update their translation, you can do so during that freeze. I will see
that the updated version is posted to
http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/release-notes/ as soon as possible.

make on older systems (RHEL3)

I've made some revisions to docs-common/Makefile.common in an attempt to
resolve build failures on RHEL3. I'd like this to undergo more testing
(particularly on older systems) before committing it. In particular, I
would like Tommy to take a quick look at this to make sure it doesn't
break anything. It is a syntax change that, to the best of my
knowledge, shouldn't change behavior, but I'm not overly experienced
with Makefiles.
The altered file is attached.

CVS access for translation

Hello, FDSCo team!
How can I get access to CVS to post translated
release notes to Russian?
I did following steps:
- create Wiki account "AndrewMartynov"
- made Self Introduction
- sign CLA
- create Fedora account "andrmart"
- download via anonymous CVS release-notes files
- prepare translated XML files
Currently I could not get access to CVS via "CVS_ROOT=:ext:andrmart@....".
I suppose my account was not activated yet.
What should I do next?
