Hi docs team I am proofreading the translation of the above document. There are two small typo and suggestion I would like to make. Is there any proper place to file, or should I contact the author directly? Typo: Under Hints section, "Q: I am trying to start *then xend service and nothing happens, then when I do a `xm list1 I get the following:" * it should read "I am trying to start xend service and then nothing happens," Suggestion: Under Automatically Loading Domains On Startup section, "Note that the /etc/init.d/xendomains script is broken with respect to its use of the LSB init functions." * this is hard to translate. Is it possible to rephrase something like "Note that the etc/init.d/xendomains script does not comply with the LSB standard."? Thanks noriko

Name : Peter van Egdom City, Country : Zaandijk, The Netherlands (GMT+1) Profession : System administrator, part-time computer science student. My goals in the Fedora Project : === - Translation of the various Fedora Core components to the Dutch language. - Proofreading the existing Dutch language of the Fedora Core components. - Reporting bugs I encounter on Fedora Core. - Triaging Fedora bug-reports. By doing this I hope to improve the Dutch language support in the Fedora Core distribution (and derivative distributions like Red Hat Enterprise Linux, etc...) and improving the end-user experience of Fedora. Historical qualifications === I've been an active translator in the pre-Fedora Core (Red Hat) days since 2002. My computer experience goes back to the Commodore 64 and Amiga computers. On the PC I grew up with DOS, Windows and OS/2. The first Linux distribution I used was Red Hat 5.2. Since that version of Red Hat I downloaded and installed every version of Red Hat that came after 5.2. Being curious, I also tried other Linux distributions but always came back to Red Hat / Fedora. At the moment my main workstation at home runs Fedora Core 5. I know a little bit of Unix shell-scripting and some college-level C programming. :-) Being a system-administrator my skills are more on the operating system and network side of things. What makes you an excellent match for the project? == Well, I eat my own dog food. :-) I try out my own translations for the Fedora Core components I see and use daily on my workstation. Periodically I also try a rawhide (Fedora development tree) installation inside a virtual machine to see the status and appearance of the Dutch anaconda and firstboot translations in the rawhide tree. Hi, I´m Tony. I haven´t written any documentation or programs or anything, but I´ve been using linux since RH7.1, mostly with the K12Linux project´s stuff. I´m in no way a Linux expert, but I am a dedicated and grateful FOSS user. Completely erased all Windows from my machine in 2001 and haven´t looked back. I taught English in public school here in CT. Left a few linux boxes made from donated spare parts in a couple of schools, gave a few away to students. Served on Tech committees at a couple of schools, both of which are now using Linux servers for e-mail and web servers, at least. Used to distribute K12ltsp CDs and OO.o from http://www.school-library.net but stopped. Still advocate for FOSS in school when and where I can, although I am no longer teaching. I´m now working as a translator and looking for a way to give back to the community in gratitude for all the great tools and toys. I figure translating documentation is probably a better place for me than translating software...I don´t know. English is my native language, but I bi-lingual in Brazilian Portuguese (my wife is from Brasil). I work as a court-interpreter for Portuguese/English, and also translate French and Spanish to English. So, I can translate English documentation to Portuguese, and Portuguese, French or Spanish to English. I´m not sure how much documentation comes through in those languages, but I know there are developers all over the world, so I figure I must be able to be of use somewhere. I am an excellent proofreader of translated materials, too, if that´s useful. I´m just now learning about encryption and gpg keys and cvs, so I´m a little clumsy, but I catch on quick. Ok, I have had a look again. Hey all, I have a problem with cvs access. I cant seem to get access and cant view anything. I found instructions on some wiki on cvs but i couldnt get access. Can someone send me a link to a wiki that has instructions on how to access and view cvs docs so i can start doing something?? I may also have an idea for a new set of documentation. It was an idea raised on fedoraforum.org and i will post more details in a while. I wouldnt mind writng such a document and details, as mentioned, will follow for all to critique. Please anyone who can help, this helpless noob get onto cvs and get up and running would be helpful!!
