Hey All,
I've been working on the Fedora 1 Tour page. Link is here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_11_tour
Can anyone tell me how they like it and if they think it is lacking
anything?
Thanks,
Jack

So... if we provide a multi-page HTML, single-page HTML, and a PDF for each of
our guides, would that be good?

I saw Rudi committed a bunch of bits to docs.fp.o but the webpage
still says Preview and the document is still marked "Draft". What
needs to happen to fix this prior to the release? I'd like to have
something on the Planet tonight if at all possible. Maybe we can put
together something to put on the announcement list as well.
Eric
We'll be caching more aggressively tonight for tomorrow's F-11 release.
This will mostly have impact on the wiki. It basically means you might
have to wait for several minutes before a change you make to the wiki to
actually show up. This is a temporary measure and will return to normal a
day or two after the launch and load on the servers has gone down.

Hello All,
Cross posting this to a couple of lists, so that we can mobilize as many
people on the ground as possible.
Tuesday is sure to be a very big day for all of us. I'm gonna try and
lay out some of the activities that are being planned for Monday, to
build buzz, and then for Tuesday, release day. If you have any
comments, of course, please reply.
*Monday, 15:00 UTC Time, 10:00AM Eastern Time *
Start releasing some media, including a couple of interviews and the
Fedora 11 Tour, which can be found here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_11_tour
I need a volunteer to submit it to the various social news sites, and
then I will follow up and coordinate with people to digg it/pick it
up/tag it, etc. **It is important that we all put in effort to take a
couple minutes to participate in these things, because alot of effort
goes into posting this stuff up and if we don't do it, its a tremendous
missed opportunity to build buzz.**
For all those involved in the News Distribution Network, or if you want
to be involved, please help spread these around to sites in your native
language and add news source to the list linked of the main page. A
list is here is linked off the main page:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Marketing_news_distribution_network
*Tuesday, 15:00 UTC Time, 10:00AM Eastern Time
*Fedora 11 is released.
Fedora News Distribution Network guys are supposed to spring into action.
We have a press archive set up at:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Marketing/PressArchive/F11
If you come across something interesting, whether in english, or
whatever language is your preference, please feel free to add it there.
This will be a great resource is tracking what press coverage looks like
on release day, and the in the days afterwards, when people finally get
F11 installed and up and running.
Also, for the marketing and ambassadors teams, will be on irc all day
long in #fedora-mktg, in constant contact, posting whatever we find on
the net and paying attention to conversations taking place so that we
can counteract as much FUD as possible. For anyone doing that, please
be courteous in your replies, we are all representatives of the
community and there is no reason to get involved in flame wars.
Please add stuff, as I am sure there is more stuff to do. Otherwise, I
wish everyone a good weekend and look forward to Tuesday which is going
to be an awesome day.
Jack

You can see the same discussion occurring on the rel-eng list
concerning the TeX Live 2008/9 packaging. Hopefully it will save
everyone needless frustration if we instead pursue getting the Zikula
CMS set up so any user can simply click his way to a specific RPM for
his document and language. Putting these in the Fedora repository is
simply begging for conflict.
Along with that CMS we should be planning for how to *make sure users
find that site.*

Hi,
There has been a recent discussion in fedora-spins list about having a
separate announcement for Fedora 11 Spins highlighting all the spins
following the official Fedora 11 announcement.
Anyone interested in working on this?
Rahul
I just added a few comments to
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Docs_decisions_for_F12
and noticed some from stickster and rudi I hadn't read before. I would
encourage everyone to revisit that page and comment if appropriate. If we
can get as much material as possible out in the open before SELF than FAD
can be that much more productive.
As Eric reminded us yesterday, F12 is fast upon us.

Hi
# yum info gnote
"Gnote is a desktop note-taking application which is simple and easy
to use. It lets you organize your notes intelligently by allowing
you to easily link ideas together with Wiki style interconnects. It
is a port of Tomboy to C++ and consumes less resources."
Should I have used fewer instead?
