Hi Nick:
Please do not branch and migrate the Musicians' Guide yet. I'm sure this
will cause problems for me in a month, but I'd like to imagine that I'll
have time to fix a few more of the bugs open against the document.

Attention beat writers: Updated Tech Notes

This rather boring document lists the changes between Fedora 14 and 15
and so is a handy reference for beat writers to see what has changed.
It also includes links to the upstream websites.
As always, this is preliminary, and will continue to change up until
zero day, but it should be a pretty close estimate of what will be in
Fedora 15.

Self Introduction: Jack Peirce

Hello,
My name is Jack Peirce. I am currently a Linux Engineer at an OEM based out of Boston, but just recently moved to Colorado and am working for the same OEM from home. Working from home has added quite a bit of free time to my schedule, and being a avid Fedora user, I have become interested in becoming a contributer. About half of my workload at the OEM was writing ISO documentation for day-to-day procedures, as well as customer support. The customer support I'm used to dealing with is a bit different then the normal tech support, my customers were mostly sys-admins from institutions like MIT, NASA, hospitals, and gov't agencies. One of my main duties was maintaining the internal wiki for known issues and resolutions for other techs benefit. I feel with the skill-set I developed at this OEM, that I can be very useful to this group.
I'd describe my skill-set with Linux as somewhere between advanced and expert. I'm still learning every day, but that's the great part about open source software. I've been using Linux for over 10 years, and as my only OS for 6. I am also very familiar with BSD/Solaris, although not quite as familiar as I am with Linux. At my OEM, we mainly focus on RHEL/CentOS/Fedora systems as server solutions, but also configure Desktop systems as well as other distributions. I am most confident in my abilities with RHEL-based systems, though can work my way around any other distribution with ease.
I have not yet publically released any projects, but have developed many open-source projects for internal use within my OEM. These projects include quality control systems (a live-usb based off Fedora with a set of scripts written in python/perl that stress a system and then generate a report based off their results), post-installation script suites, command-line tools to modify our internal system scheduler and support ticketing systems, etc.
I completed most of my bachelor's degree in CS before financial reasons pulled me to work full time, but feel like I've learned exponentially more in the 3 years I've worked here than in the 3 I went to school.
Anyways, I'm looking to dive in to contributing to Fedora, and feel with my skill-set the docs project is the best place to start. I'd very much appreciate it if someone sponsored me, I'm looking forward to diving in and fixing bugs as well as creating and improving the documentation.

Meeting Time

Meeting, so because schedules change and people come and go, I would
like everyone who is interested in attending the meeting to fill out a
form[1] that will show us the best possible times to meet. Then next

I wanted to bring this to the Docs community's attention so we can make
our own decision on whether or not we want this resource or not.
We have been using the pingall tool in zodbot for the last few months
allowing us to notify everyone in our room that a meeting was beginning
to start. Since its removal we've found that the "solution" is very
hacky and doesn't work very well. We've also found that several people
missed the meeting because they forgot and weren't reminded.
I've talked to a couple of people over in -admin and they say they can
turn it back on for our channel. I support bringing this functionality
back to our channel. It just makes sense to allow the projects to have
the tools they need.
I wonder about the people that complained in the first place. I can
understand not needed/wanting this functionality in non-project rooms
(i.e. #fedora-meeting) but when it is useful to the project then we
should be able to have that functionality.
Just wanted to throw this out there so we could have a discussion before
any decisions are made. Comments encouraged.

With the growth of our doc infrastructure, it is probably time to
remove some old items from the website tree. Currently rhold and
docs.old have about 3gb of items that should be elsewhere also. I

up disk space.
