I don't think this went to the list. It is my opinion that the git and svn repositories for our guides be included in the new requirements so that we make sure that contributions are properly licensed. Attribution in formal guides

At SELF I spoke with Spot about attribution in docs. The CC license does not specify the means in which we provide attribution for work we use in our documentation. I'm specifically concerned about how to attribute work that originates on the wiki that makes it into formal documentation. I'd like to establish a standard for doing this. It is virtually impossible to manage all aspects of a guide by yourself. I feel that a standardized QA process (and the Documentation Guide!) will make it easier and faster for contributors to find useful tasks. I would appreciate tips and examples of how to write documents that are easy to translate. Last July, rudi offered me a few tips about this; they were never made public, and are certainly not complete. Furthermore, I would like to volunteer my time--whatever I can spare--to help develop style guidelines. I will create a chapter of the Documentation Guide that combines the most recent Chicago Manual of Style, the "Apple" style guidelines, whatever is available on the Fedora wiki, and whatever is already written into the Doc Guide. Docs QA Proposal

I'm on the Brand Communications team at Red Hat and work on assorted things from collateral to web banners to emails--generally marketing sorts of writing. In that job, I'm also editor (and frequent writer) for opensource.com.
