Self Introduction
by Glen Rundblom
Hello everyone, my name is Glen Rundblom. I am a system administrator
that has switched from Windows to Linux. I enjoy using Fedora and CentOS
and want to contribute to the projects. I enjoy writing and
communicating, so I thought this would be a good place to learn how to
contribute back to the project. Right now I am also looking / learning
how I might be able to contribute to the marketing group.
This is the first open project I have ever joined, so I am studying the
documentation how things are done. Since this is a bit awkward as I am
learning, I welcome any and all advice!
I hope to be able to join the meeting tomorrow morning (I believe its at
8am my local time).
I thank you for the opportunity to join your group.
-Glen

[Bug 627417] New: docs.fp.o landing page needs 'Start here' note!
by Red Hat Bugzilla
Please do not reply directly to this email. All additional
comments should be made in the comments box of this bug.
Summary: docs.fp.o landing page needs 'Start here' note!
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=627417
Summary: docs.fp.o landing page needs 'Start here' note!
Product: Fedora Documentation
Version: devel
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: medium
Priority: low
Component: docs-requests
AssignedTo: eric(a)christensenplace.us
ReportedBy: nathan.thomas(a)peacenik.co.uk
QAContact: fedora-docs-list(a)redhat.com
CC: stickster(a)gmail.com, kwade(a)redhat.com,
nb(a)fedoraproject.org
Classification: Fedora
Description of problem:
We have a large variety of documentation guides serving a wide range of
different users. It may be difficult for users arriving at docs.fp.o to know
where to start, especially if they are new to Fedora/Linux and are unfamiliar
with some of the technical terms.
A note on the landing page suggesting a sensible starting point for new users
could help alleviate this problem. Eg:
"New to Fedora? You can try Fedora on your PC without touching your existing
installation by following the Live Image Guide."
The end of the Live Image guide helpfully points users to the Installation
guide if they want to install :)

Self-Introduction Kenny Valdivia
by Kenny Valdivia
Hello documentation team,
My name is Kenny R. Valdivia. and I'm a Systems Engineering student at
"Universidad Católica de Santa María" which is located in Arequipa, Peru. I
feel very enthusiastic about contributing to a free software project, and
working with people from around the world (and learning from them aswell).
> My experience in previous projects, other than the college projects, is
none.
> I have been programming in languages such as Python, Java and C++.
> I feel confident of my knowledge about bash, shellscript and some CLI
tools.
> I have some knowledge about Relational Databases, I use postgresql and
mysql for tasks as such.
> I have been using fedora for more than a year now, and linux for more
than three years.
I'm an excellent match for the project because:
> I like to write, not only code, but in general.
> I want to contribute to things I feel passionate about, that is, free
software.
> I want to see free software and open source take over the world, for good.
I want to join the project because:
> I want to improve my skills and consolidate the knowledge I got in
college.
> I want to give back to the community, which in my opinion, is the best in
the free software environment.
> I love Fedora, is my favorite linux distro, and I would like to
contribute to the packages team too.
