Self-Introduction (third attempt)
by Lailah
Hello!
My name is Sylvia and I am from Montevideo, Uruguay. I would like to
contribute to the documentation work, maybe translating or proof
reading, or anything else you may need.
I'm currently writing articles for the Fedora Magazine and I also write
in my own WordPress https://crossingtheair.wordpress.com
My daily work is as Community Manager in three different pages.
I know different languages, English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and
Italian.
I work on design (Gimp, Krita, Digikam, etc.) and translations
mainly, but I also use some video and music edition programmes in
specific projects.
I read the wiki about the Documentation Project to know better how it
works.
It's been 10 years now using Linux and I'm a Fedora User since
Verne. I started contributing to the project last year becoming
Ambassador last December.
I have very good "soft skills" and a good science background; I think
I can contribute in many ways.
As the wiki asks to say my time zone, well this is GMT-3.
Hope to be accepted, feel free to ask
Cheers,
Sylvia

Meeting Time poll
by Pete Travis
Hello all,
Because meeting attendance has been low lately, I have set up a whenisgood
poll[0] to see if a better time for everyone exists. Please remember to
select your timezone and put your name in before submitting your response.

No XSL for DocBook experiment
by Jeff Fearn
As a hobby project, I have been intermittently working on a process to
convert DocBook directly to HTML5 without using XST.
Yes, I dislike XSL *that* much :)
Anyway, I thought I'd drop a link to the current, very alpha, output to
see if anyone can inspire me to be less intermittent :)
I chucked out all the HTML & CSS and started again using Bootstrap, Font
Awesome, highlight.js, and the jQuery DataTables library.
Why shouldn't people reading your doc be able to reorder or filter a
table when reading a doc!
Still uses DocBook for input, because there are plenty of tools that
handle other formats well.
Cheers, Jeff.

Whiteboards!
by Pete Travis
I threw up a photo of the whiteboard David and I worked on last night to
https://immanetize.fedorapeople.org/whiteboard.jpg . My handwriting is
worse on a board than on paper, sorry about that :P
It was a reasonably productive discussion; I feel like I can handle the
backend business but we identified a clear need for some client-side
development. Pairing a contextually appropriate subset of all the
available metadata does not seem to be an easy task for a static site,
but again, I'm clueless when it comes to frontend design and development.
David has a wealth of programming experience, and plans to work up a
starting point for the front end.
