Hi guys,
An idea was floated at WOSCON [1] to create a shared open-source style guide for documentation writers [2]. This would be a "vanilla" style guide, which projects could modify and extend if necessary. Advantages include:
* No need for projects to write their own style guide from scratch * Reasonable uniformity in style and terminology across projects * Independence from external style guides, which may cost money to access * Projects which don't have a style guide get one for free
We have people from GNOME, Ubuntu, Xfce and Drupal discussing this right now, and we'd love for other projects to let us know if they are interested in the concept, and to give us their feedback if they are.
PLEASE get in touch via the WOS website [1] rather than replying directly to this message, since this is getting crossposted to a lot of doc lists.
Thanks,
Phil

Eric,
Can we add this to the meeting agenda for this week? I'd suggest that someone take the action item of bringing our Style Guide to the WOS folks since it's free for them to use and remix. It may only be a starting point, but should be somewhat helpful.

Remind us infrequent meeting participants when you meet this week? There is interest from the Evergreen community, as we are at the very beginning stages of developing a styleguide and would love to invent as few wheels as necessary.

Hi Karen, We meet every Wednesday evening at 8PM EDT (that's Thursdays at 00:01 UTC) using IRC (irc.freenode.net) in the #fedora-meeting room. You can get more information on our meetings on our wiki[1]. We are in the process of cleaning up our wiki space so if you can't find something just ask. If I can't answer your question I'll find someone who can.
