Christoph,
Can you give me an update on what the differences are between Fedora 13 and 14 in regards to LXDE? Were there any updates? What is the version that will ship with F14?
Thanks, Eric

Acording to http://blog.lxde.org/?p=779 the new LXAppearance lets a full customization of the GTK Theme.
Copy-paste from the blog: --- Main features of LXApppearance2
Depends on gtk+ only. Can work completely without gnome. Friendly and Gnome HIG compliant user interface Provides real-time preview of the selected themes Changes icon theme Changes cursor theme in a almost desktop independent way. Supports color schemes. You can change the color used by themes if the themes support gtk color scheme. Able to install/remove icon and cursor themes in a user-friendly way Provides additional options for gtk toolbars Able to turn off event sound provided by libcanberra-gtk-module. Changes default font used by gtk+ applications Although this is a LXDE component, it works perfectly well outside LXDE and it has no LXDE dependencies. ---
I think it's the most obvious change. My two cents

Awesome list. AND, according to the blog, it is licensed CC-BY-SA so we can use this information directly!
I think we need to get a confirmation from the LXDE SIG that this is a change for F14.

Hi Eric,
LXDE doesn't have a common version, it consists of components that each have their own version. If people refer to an LXDE version, they use the version of lxde-common, the package that ties everything together. lxde-common hasn't changed in F14.
Some other components have though: * lxappearance, the "Look and feel" configuration was completely rewritten and now (version 0.5) supports many more features: setting mouse cursor themes, custom colors, icon sizes in menus/buttons, turning icons in menus/buttons on and off, enabling event sounds etc. * the display manager lxdm has been updated to 0.3.0. It now has a user list and a timeout, so we can select the language and the keyboard setting on the login window. This is very handy for the livecd. * lxterminal has been updated to 0.1.9 and now has new features like 'true' transparency for composite window managers.
The rest of the components is still the same as in F13.
Regards, Christoph

Christoph, Thanks for the input. I've added this to the Desktop Beat for the F14 Release Notes.
