Bug ID: 1333519 Summary: Some GTK3 themes make gray blocks appear on text editor hiding text Product: Fedora Version: 23 Component: eclipse Assignee: akurtako@redhat.com Reporter: a_villacis@palosanto.com QA Contact: extras-qa@fedoraproject.org CC: akurtako@redhat.com, andjrobins@gmail.com, eclipse-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org, jerboaa@gmail.com, krzysztof.daniel@gmail.com, mat.booth@redhat.com, rgrunber@redhat.com
Created attachment 1154329 --> https://bugzilla.redhat.com/attachment.cgi?id=1154329&action=edit Screenshot showing gray blocks hiding text under Windows 10 GTK theme.
Description of problem: On quite a few third-party themes that are otherwise usable on GTK3/GnomeShell in Fedora, the Eclipse text editor shows persistent opaque bars at the top, right, and bottom borders of the text area, hiding text behind them. This makes the theme unsuitable for working with Eclipse.
These bars do not seem to appear on any other GTK3 application featuring a text editor area (for example, gedit).
One theme available on the Fedora repos that triggers the issue is gtk-xfce-engine.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): eclipse-platform-4.5.2-10.fc23.x86_64
How reproducible: Always (with suitable theme)
Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install eclipse and gtk-xfce-engine 2. Open any text file using the text editor inside Eclipse 3. Scroll up and down on the text
Actual results: Bars hiding text (as shown in attachment)
Expected results: All text should be visible in text area
Additional info: Experienced with both Moka theme and Windows 10 theme.
