New git in EPEL?

After some discussion in IRC (Fedora-admin) we are wondering if pushing a new git in EPEL is a good idea. There are some changes such as git-command vs git command. So there could be some breakage. Should we push a new git and cause some breakage or stick with old-n-busted? My thoughts are to push out a new one, since I think if you are using git, you curse everytime you touch this old crusty thing :) stahnma

RFE: add buildsys-build to comps, add buildsys macros to epel-release

Hiyas, is there a bugtracker for EPEL and its infrastructure? I did not find one, therefore I post my RFEs for EPEL here: 1) Currently EPEL only provides a buildsys-build rpm package at: http://buildsys.fedoraproject.org/buildgroups/rhel5/i386/ It would be nice to have also a buildsys-build comps group in the EPEL comps file, so one can easier build epel rpms with a gpg check enabled setup. 2) Add the rpm macros from http://buildsys.fedoraproject.org/buildgroups/rhel5/i386/buildsys- macros-5-4.el5.noarch.rpm to the epel-release package. In Fedora the dist macro is also in fedora- release. The reason for this is the same as for 1). Regards Till

Missing package xen-devel?

I wonder is the xen-devel package missing in EPEL or in the builders at the moment? CentOS 5.4 is out ... EPEL?

I notice that CentOS announced the availability of CentOS 5.4 last week[1]. Does this mean that EPEL will follow soon? And if so, what's the estimated time before we will be able to build packages for 5.4? Rich. R-hdf5

I just installed R-hdf5 and received this error message from the postscript: /home/aaronk/rpmbuild/tmp/rpm-tmp.80148: line 1: /usr/lib64/R/doc/html/search/index.txt: No such file or directory error: %post(R-hdf5-1.6.6-1.el5.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 1 I also can't uninstall the rpm without using the --noscripts option because of the samepostscript error. The postscripts are listed below: [root@n1 ~]# rpm -q --scripts R-hdf5 postinstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh): cat /usr/lib64/R/library/*/CONTENTS > /usr/lib64/R/doc/html/search/index.txt postuninstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh): cat /usr/lib64/R/library/*/CONTENTS > /usr/lib64/R/doc/html/search/index.txt It appears that /usr/lib64/R/doc doesn't exist- hence the errors. After looking at a few other R "plugins" I saw that they use /usr/lib/rpm/R-make-search-index.sh in the post scripts which seems to perform the same function as the current postscripts in R-hdf5 but among other things, uses existing paths. I've attached a patch for the spec file for R-hdf5 that uses /usr/lib/rpm/R-make-search-index.sh instead of what it's currently doing that's causing errors. I also added a require for R-core, since /usr/lib/rpm/R-make-search-index.sh is provided by R-core. If it's deemed acceptable would it possible to get this patch incorporated and get a new build pushed out? Thanks! -Aaron
