Thats not going to work. Xfce has many components that don't start with xfce4.

You could try 'yum groupinstall xfce-desktop' but I am not sure the comps are setup right for that in epel7. So, instead just list all the packages in the copr...

yum groups install xfce-desktop should also work on EPEL-7. Just did that yesterday.

One potential issue is - xfce4-mixer might complain. It should be replaced by xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin.

That should be xfce-desktop (notice it's xfce not xfce4).

Just wanted to send out a reminder to test Xfce 4.12 packages from COPR for EPEL-7. You will need to have updated to EL-7.2 before installing the packages from this COPR.

Specifically, I would be interested to know any issues with respect to upgrading from Xfce 4.10 - currently available in EPEL repos.

I now realize pavucontrol is not available in Centos 7. But, the volume adjustment itself does work with the plugin, correct?

As for the icons, can you go into Settings -> Appearance -> Icons and check if one of the complete icon themes is selected?

i also tested updating an existing xfce 4.10 installation. also had to select the "Default GNOME Theme" (icon theme) after updating it. there where the 3 packages xfce4-smartbookmark-plugin, xfce4-battery-plugin and xfce4-mixer i had to manually remove before the update worked (see attachment).

yes, volume adjustemnts works fine with the plugin. i installed pavucontrol from fedora 21. works fine.

you are also right with the icons. no icon theme was selected. i picked "Default GNOME Theme" and everything seems to be fine.
