There are no such references in the epel-release package. Have you downloaded the package over HTTPS? Can you post the output of: rpm -V epel-release rpm -qi epel-release and the contents of /etc/yum.repos.d/epel.repo ?

This would have been a change made by the user before installing epel-release, or possibly it came from some panel software, or a VPS vendor or ... who knows, but crazy things get done by prior admins, clueless vendors, etc.
