Fedora EPEL 5 Update: R-qtl-1.19.20-1.el5

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2011-0111

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : R-qtl
Product : Fedora EPEL 5
Version : 1.19.20
Release : 1.el5
URL : http://www.rqtl.org/
Summary : Tools for analyzing QTL experiments
Description :
R-qtl is an extensible, interactive environment for mapping
quantitative trait loci (QTLs) in experimental crosses. Our goal is to
make complex QTL mapping methods widely accessible and allow users to
focus on modeling rather than computing.
A key component of computational methods for QTL mapping is the hidden
Markov model (HMM) technology for dealing with missing genotype
data. We have implemented the main HMM algorithms, with allowance for
the presence of genotyping errors, for backcrosses, intercrosses, and
phase-known four-way crosses.
The current version of R-qtl includes facilities for estimating
genetic maps, identifying genotyping errors, and performing single-QTL
genome scans and two-QTL, two-dimensional genome scans, by interval
mapping (with the EM algorithm), Haley-Knott regression, and multiple
imputation. All of this may be done in the presence of covariates
(such as sex, age or treatment). One may also fit higher-order QTL
models by multiple imputation and Haley-Knott regression.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
New version from http://www.rqtl.org/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This update can be installed with the "yum" update programs. Use
su -c 'yum update R-qtl' at the command line.

[SECURITY] Fedora EPEL 4 Update: proftpd-1.3.3d-1.el4
by updates@fedoraproject.org
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2011-0093
2011-01-20 06:04:09
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : proftpd
Product : Fedora EPEL 4
Version : 1.3.3d
Release : 1.el4
URL : http://www.proftpd.org/
Summary : Flexible, stable and highly-configurable FTP server
Description :
ProFTPD is an enhanced FTP server with a focus toward simplicity, security,
and ease of configuration. It features a very Apache-like configuration
syntax, and a highly customizable server infrastructure, including support for
multiple 'virtual' FTP servers, anonymous FTP, and permission-based directory
visibility.
This package defaults to the standalone behavior of ProFTPD, but all the
needed scripts to have it run by xinetd instead are included.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This is an update to the current upstream maintenance release, which addresses a security issue that could affect users of the mod_sql module (not enabled by default).
* A heap-based buffer overflow flaw was found in the way ProFTPD FTP server prepared SQL queries for certain usernames, when the mod_sql module was enabled. A remote, unauthenticated attacker could use this flaw to cause the proftpd daemon to crash or, potentially, to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user running 'proftpd' via a specially-crafted username, provided in the authentication dialog.
The update also fixes a CPU spike when handling .ftpaccess files, and handling of SFTP uploads when compression is used.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[SECURITY] Fedora EPEL 4 Update: myproxy-5.3-1.el4
by updates@fedoraproject.org
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2011-0092
2011-01-19 07:07:48
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : myproxy
Product : Fedora EPEL 4
Version : 5.3
Release : 1.el4
URL : http://grid.ncsa.illinois.edu/myproxy/
Summary : Manage X.509 Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) security credentials
Description :
MyProxy is open source software for managing X.509 Public Key Infrastructure
(PKI) security credentials (certificates and private keys). MyProxy
combines an online credential repository with an online certificate
authority to allow users to securely obtain credentials when and where needed.
Users run myproxy-logon to authenticate and obtain credentials, including
trusted CA certificates and Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
Release 5.3 fixes a myproxy-logon security bug in MyProxy versions
5.0-5.2 that disabled server identity verification:
The myproxy-logon program in MyProxy versions 5.0 through 5.2 does not
enforce the check that the myproxy-server's certificate contains the
expected hostname or identity. The impacted MyProxy versions are
included in Globus Toolkit releases 5.0.0-5.0.2. This issue is
addressed in MyProxy 5.3.
Full details are available:
http://grid.ncsa.illinois.edu/myproxy/security/myproxy-adv-2011-01.txt
Other changes in this release:
* if myproxy-logon GSI mutual authentication with the myproxy-server fails, try again with client-side anonymous authentication, in case the client-side GSI credentials are unacceptable to the myproxy-server (for example, signed by an untrusted CA), but the myproxy-server would accept an anonymous client (http://bugzilla.globus.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=7103)
* fix configure checks for globus_usage_stats_send, globus_usage_stats_send_array, and globus_gsi_proxy_handle_set_extensions when installing without existing Globus libraries in LD_LIBRARY_PATH (http://bugzilla.globus.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=7098)
* in myproxy-server-setup, look in /sbin and /usr/sbin for chkconfig or update-rc.d in case they're not in PATH
* add certificate_issuer_subca_certfile option in myproxy-server.config (http://bugzilla.globus.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=7119)
* make all Globus Usage library errors non-fatal (http://bugzilla.globus.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=7111)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This update can be installed with the "yum" update programs. Use
su -c 'yum update myproxy' at the command line.

where, when and what the warning was, including a stack trace of what was
going on when the it occurred.
