Hi can I contribute if I do not use IRC (Freenode).
I find that my time is limited. I can read an email, so I do not have to be online to watch the chats.
I prefer to have some documents, code, executable, script thrown my way, and I can install and test same, or update /write good concise accurate documentation
I used to prgram in assembler, for speed and size, but currently do most of my coding in C or C++.
I do substantial writng on technical stuff, and when I reread it a few days later, I am impressed with how good it is. (Self praise is no glory, but good lucid explanations in grammatical sentence construction helps)
