Am reviewing a request to include Hack fonts in Fedora: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2149686 The foundry short name is src and the full name is source-foundry. Should the package name be: a) src-hack-fonts b) source-foundry-hack-fonts
The short name src may lead to confusion.
If the short name is to be preferred in most cases, can update the packaging guidelines: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/FontsPolicy

I think it's up to the packager to pick the most suitable name when upstream uses multiple versions of a name. IMO "source-foundry" seems much clearer than "src".
