Do keytabs expire?

Hi, today I found out that some entries in a keytab file seemed to have expired: Request ticket server HTTP/mwc.linux.mydomain.at(a)LINUX.MYDOMAIN.AT kvno 4 not found in keytab; keytab is likely out of date Fetching the keytab again with ipa-getkeytab fixed the problem. But why is this happening? Do keytab entries expire? I have not set any custom password or ticket policies. Regards, Ronald

IPA CA allow CSR SAN names in external domains

Hello I have a RHEL7 IPA server installed as a subordinate CA. I'd like to be able to add SAN's for a different dns domain than exists in the IPA realm. The dns for 'otherdomain.com' is handled by active directory which my IPA server has a cross-forest trust with. ie: host: client1.ipadomain.com certificate: CN = client1.ipadomain.com, SAN = client1.ipadomain.com, servicename.otherdomain.com When I try to submit this CSR with 'ipa-getcert request' the IPA server denies with: "The service principal for subject alt name servicename.otherdomain.com in certificate request does not exist" It seems that the default CAACL enforces a profile named 'caIPAserviceCert', but I'm having some trouble determining what can be modified (or cloned and changed in a new profile) that would allow the CA to sign a CSR that contains *.ipadomain.com and *.otherdomain.com in the SAN. This is the only section in the profile that contains SAN: policyset.serverCertSet.12.constraint.class_id=noConstraintImpl policyset.serverCertSet.12.constraint.name=No Constraint policyset.serverCertSet.12.default.class_id=commonNameToSANDefaultImpl policyset.serverCertSet.12.default.name=Copy Common Name to Subject Alternative Name Thanks, Steve

nfsidmap/nss_getpwnam fails to resolve users with IPA/NFSv4+krb5

Hi All. We have IPA setup in an AD trust to support our Linux fleet. I’m running into a problem trying to get Ubuntu (16.04) clients to resolve names/ids on an NFS-mounted filesystem from an NFS server using NFSv4/krb5. Files and directories show up as ‘nobody’ or an incorrect numerical ID when listed with ‘ls’. RHEL7 clients seem to working fine with a very similar configuration (as far as I can tell). The particulars are: - AD forest has domains ‘localdomain’ and ‘student.localdomain’ (my user identity is ‘user@localdomain’) - IPA domain is ‘ipa.localdomain’ - The NFS server (RHEL7) and clients (Ubu16.04, RHEL7) are both enrolled to IPA (with 'Domain=ipa.localdomain’ in /etc/idmapd.conf). IPA server upgrade fails with KDC error

Hi, I'm trying to upgrade FreeIPA through ipa-server-upgrade from 4.4 to 4.5. The command fails with an "ACIError: Insufficient access:" . I find in the kdc log that it complains about " Database module does not match KDC version - while initializing database for realm..." Does anybody know how to fix this? using freeipa with an AWS elastic load balancer

I set up a FreeIPA master and replica behind an elastic load balancer in AWS cloud. FreeIPA Clients will be contacting the replica and the master sever through the load balancer so the dns name used when configurting the clients is the ELB CNAME. The problem is when retreiving ldap data and during the authentication, the SSL handshake fails as the certificate sent back from the master or replica has a hostname different than the one used in the sssd ( the ELB CNAME). so the connection is terminated. There is a workaround which is the use reqcert=allow but this bring a security issue with a MITM attack. another solution i found is the use SAN. I was able to add the ELB DNS as a SAN in freeipa servers certificate. i made sure it is there by downloading the certificate and checking that the elb san exist but when testing it the same problem remain. Please help.

Web UI login fails after upgrading to 4.5

Hi all, After I upgraded to FreeIPA 4.5 (on CentOS 7), I get an error "Login failed due to an unknown reason" on the web UI, no matter if I use the admin user or my personal user. From what I can tell, all the ipa commands work fine on the command line, and kinit also works fine. I have included some output from /var/log/httpd/error_log below. It would be great if someone could make a guess (or better) at what is going wrong, or which logs to look at, etc. When I run the command in the CalledProcessError, I get a password prompt for WELLKNOWN/ANONYMOUS(a)OUS.NSC.LOCAL (the second part is the realm name). Renewal of External Third Party SSL Cert

Hello, I am using the embedded CA For FreeIPA as well as external CA Signed by Digicert. However, the certificate will be expiring next month. After renewal, do I need to install the certificate again using the same steps mentioned within the link https://www.freeipa.org/page/Using_3rd_part_certificates_for_HTTP/LDAP Similarly how will I be able to update the new certificate in my IPA Clients too. Do I need to follow the steps below on all IPA Clients? ----- certutil -A -d /etc/pki/nssdb -n 'IPA CA' -t CT,C,C -a -i ipa.crt cp ipa.crt /etc/ipa/ca.crt ------- Can you please brief up the exact procedure to follow for the third party SSL cert renewal. Can't create new CA replica

Since taking over our FreeIPA environment I've been unable to create a new CA replica. A bunch of failed attempts and upgrades over the last year and I keep running in to issues. After my latest attempt I noticed something that I had not seen before (likely a result of an recent upgrade) and I was wondering if this would cause a CA install to fail. Our env: 3 x ipa-server-3.0.0-51.el6.x86_64 3 x ipa-server-4.4.0-14.el7_3.7.x86_64 2 of the 3.x IPA servers are currently acting as CAs and I've been trying to create a new 4.x CA replica in order to start removing the 3.x IPA servers. I've been able to do a simple test with vanilla CentOS 6.9 and 7.3 and it seems to work fine as far as I can tell but when I try it in our environment it fails. Is it possible this bad info would cause a failure when trying to create a new CA replica? If so is it something I can try cleaning up? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

easy way to check ipa-client status

So....rarely, a second server is built with the same fqdn, causing an issue with the original server kerberos realm membership...thing. Is there an easy way to check/confirm this similar to how you'd check the computer accounts for M$ AD? Thanks in advance! -Jake
