if the ruvs cannot be decoded, the ipa command line utility does not
work, you have to execute a plain cleanallruv task, an example is
here:
# ldapmodify -D "cn=directory manager" -W -a
dn: cn=clean 8, cn=cleanallruv, cn=tasks, cn=config
objectclass: extensibleObject
replica-base-dn: o=ipaca
replica-id: 8
cn: clean 8
you have to set the correct replicabase dn.
there exists documentatio for the cleanallruv task in 389-ds:
http://www.port389.org/docs/389ds/howto/howto-cleanruv.html
but it might not be applicable 1:1 to your scenario.
