Hi all, I started curating a map of FUDCon Milan places here:
in the hope it could be useful to participants. Please note I DO NOT LIVE in Milan, so while most of the pins location look accurate I'd really appreciate a double check from someone who does actually live there.
If anyone wants edit permissions on the map just drop me a note
Cheers
G.
Thank you very much. It is an interesting and useful guide.

Gianluca,
Please make sure this is linked on the Milan wiki page: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FUDCon:Milan_2011
There is an "Area Map" link in the Quick Links box on the right but it doesn't go anywhere. I recommend you put the map there.

Done, I tried to embed the map in the page but failed (not sure how to add an iframe in the wiki), so I just added the link
Is there any cheap way to get from Central Station to UNA Hotel Mediterraneo (the place I will be sleeping and most of controbutors), Google Maps tells 4.3 km, 54 mins which is a bit far distance to walk, buses or taxis available?

From Stazione Centrale to the UNA Hotel Mediterraneo hotel, You can
take the metro M3 (yellow line), going towards S.Donato and stop at 'Porta Romana'. Then you can walk to the hotel, very near.
Note: just check this on google maps and other web :). Hope to be confirmed by a real Italian :)
Kind regards, Tuan

Yeah, Metro looks like the best option to get there from Stazione Centrale. You just earned the "Real Italian" badge :)

I will be arriving on Thursday 29th at 16:50 at MXP, I plan to take the Express Train (From Malpensa Airport to Milan Centrale: Express Train (30', Single: 12 EUR)) and then Metro from Central Station to Hotel + walking.
So the Y3 Metro route looks like this: http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Piazza+della+Repubblica&daddr=Via+Ludo... that I will get in at "Republica" and get out at "Porta Romana"? Or am I wrong? Can anyone draw a route on Google Maps just to give me an idea!
I can't find S.Donato on map, what is it? A street?
How much does the Metro ticket costs?
Thanks, Gent

San Donato is the terminus of the Metro Y3 ( http://g.co/maps/h293c ), is the direction that you take to go to Porta Romana.
How much does the Metro ticket costs?
1.5 Euro
See you, Domenico
So I will have to get out somewhere here: http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Via+Rodolfo+Carabelli&daddr=Via+Ludovi...
