I think it'd be a really good idea to have an APAC FUDCon -- to bring Fedora folk in the region together, and also to help get more people involved in the project.
Are there any concret plans for one?
If not, I'm prepared to lead the organization process.
(I'm in Sydney, btw).

There were some very very initial discussions about doing a FUDCon in Brisbane, I'm not sure what the status is on that right now, Paul might know more.

Which Paul?
LCA 2011 dates have been announced:
http://kangawallafox.com/2010/04/15/lca2011dates/
(16-22 Jan)
16th is a Sunday, but it's usually orientation stuff and not the main programme of talks/miniconfs.
So, possible dates would be 15+16 Jan (or 14+15), if this were to happen next to LCA. I'm guessing this would be most efficient in terms of travel.

That is the quarter in which the NA FUDCon is scheduled (dec - feb). I think the apac fudcon is theoretically supposed to occur in the march - may timeframe. http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Premier_Fedora_events should have the appropriate quarter / time frame listed. (Apologies if I typo'd the wiki pg - I'm on my crackberry!)

We're talking with some people in Red Hat's Brisbane office about organizing a Fedora BoF at LCA as a kickoff for planning a full-on FUDCon in Brisbane. Such an event might even be organized as a low-cost Fedora Activity Day (FAD) event, spanning a full day if that was workable.
