Hi Friends at FUEL, Let me start by introducing myself to the group. I have been dabbling in localization for a number of years on and off, have provided string localization to various projects (many a times through Aman Brar) and managing Punjabi Open Source group list with Amandeep Singh Brar. We ended up collaborating on a paper that was published at a Sikh Conference in Stanford few years ago. Amandeep Brar, Aman Saini and I, all three being in Canada, have been discussing for a while now about starting an open source software and localization group here in Canada west coast, with somewhat of a focus on Punjabi and other Indic languages. To get some traction in the community, we have started a generic Surrey Open Source Brigade http://www.meetup.com/Surrey-Open-Source-Brigade/, the first meeting of which is going to be held on Oct 3. We would love to bring up the discussion of FUEL project and upcoming FUEL conference. If someone can point to a brief intro (slides or otherwise), that would be helpful.
