Hi Lakshmi,
Haskell packaging contributions to Fedora are always welcome: cc'ing haskell-devel
list.
I did some packaging work for a haskell project and in the process
created rpms for some libraries as well.
I would like to submit them for Fedora 13. Can you let me know how to get started on
this?
Please cabal2spec for packaging cabal packages to Fedora.
I recommend looking at the current packages to get a clear
idea of how we are doing. And suggestions for improvements
to our packaging are welcome too.
Am I supposed to get some accounts approved for this purpose?
Yes, Haskell SIG is just a group of interested people working together on
packaging Haskell for Fedora.
I couldn't get required information from Haskell SIG webpage and
from haskell-devel list at fedora project as well.
There is no special process for Haskell packages, except the Haskell Packaging Guidelines
(which need some updating anyway) - you just follow the usual path to become a packager
through sponsorship in the Package review process.
You can also ask questions on our little #fedora-haskell channel: we have about one
person in each of Asia, US, and Europe.
Hope that helps,
Jens
