A question probably better asked to a kde mailing list, say

If you know localization process of REDHAT in any Language, please help me or give me clues.

I think he already installed the locales he needed...
[original message]
I have installed Redhat 10, and when i installed the redhat , I also
checked Urdu language locales, but these are not installed, now when i
look in CDs there is no RPM for urdu locales.
[/original message]
Checking the language pack, would have installed the locales as well.
Tahir: I seriously recommend getting a newer version of Fedora Core.
FC5 is a stable system & you can very well go ahead with it...
however, if you want the latest packages, try Fc6T2
:)

[Fedora-i18n-list] How to install language locales?
by Tahir Abdul Rauf Butt
Hi,
Thanks to all who are helping me out.
another thing-->
I have installed Redhat 10, and when i installed the redhat , I also checked Urdu language locales, but these are not installed, now when i look in CDs there is no RPM for urdu locales.
Would you please tell me where to find these locales package, or how to install these locales.
In debian i used the command
"sudo dpkg-recofigure localse", and then i checked urdu and it was installed, and when i logged on again, i chose urdu and urdu was enabled and translations were being shown.
but this command does not run in REDHAT , please tell me the right way so that my translated ".mo" files could be active, and i could see urdu in menus.

[Fedora-i18n-list] Fedora's deployment of glibc locale machinery
by Kenneth Porter
Where is the procedure for installing additional locales documented?
I'm working on an app that needs to read strings from a binary file written
on Windows (a Visual Source Safe database) and write them to an XML file. I
want to write the XML in the same codepage using TinyXML, and it uses the
isprint() function to filter invalid characters, so I need LC_CTYPE set
appropriately. I found that the strings in my test data were from codepage
1252, but other users will see their native codepage. The XML will be read
into a Perl script and eventually written back out to a UTF-8 file (a
Subversion dump file).
After lots of digging around in the glibc source I found I needed to use
localepref to build /usr/lib/locale/en_US.CP1252 from the files in the
localedata subdirectory of the glibc sources. But when I run "locale -m" I
do see CP1252 listed. That suggests that there's some way to install a new
locale without having to install the glibc source. (I'm doing this through
an ssh terminal session, so hopefully I don't need an X app for this.)
I also found /usr/share/locale. What's the relationship between this
directory and /usr/lib/locale?
