Feedback on topics for IRC Classroom sessions
by "G"
Hi Everyone
1.Creating a Virtual Router environment using Fedora and UML.
2. Creating a filesystem using busybox and using it with QEMU on fedora
3. Introduction to Netlink Sockets- What are they ?
4. Netlink Sockets Part 2
5. The UML Switch
I plan to take these sessions from April and i have already updated the
first list at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Classroom .
I am also planning to take sessions on areas like Security (IPSec, OpenSwan
etc) and Routing (BGP,OSPF,etc) Switching (VLAN, RSTP,MSTP), MPLS etc.
Can you let me know if anyone interested to attend these. If they are i
could take these as these are hot technologies and you could probably think
what connection does it have with Fedora. In a sense yes it has, Routing you
could take quagga routing suite and i could give a demo on how to setup
routing environment using quagga on fedora. and how to setup BGP session and
if its MPLS you could still do the same with MPLS packages available for
fedora and then patching the kernel too. and OpenSwan is very famous with
IPsec
Do let me know your suggestions and comments.
Thanks,
Cheers,
Balaji

[RFC] #fedora-india IRC sessions
by Shakthi Kannan
Hi,
I would like to know what would be convenient times to have IRC
tutorial sessions on #fedora-india.
1. Do people prefer to learn/experiment new things in the afternoon,
or evenings during weekends?
2. Is there any way of creating polls in fedoraproject.org/wiki to get
feedback for such queries?
The sessions in #fedora-classroom (UTC) occur quite late nights (IST).
Appreciate any inputs.
Thanks!
SK

GNUnify 2009
by Rahul Sundaram
Hi
http://opensourcebuzz.technetra.com/2009/03/08/gnunify-2009-community-sup...
"Another project that I was happy to see participate this year was
Fedora India. The Fedora Activity Days (FAD) at GNUnify were a high
energy effort that pulled together India’s Fedora team. I thank my
friends at Red Hat, especially Sankarshan, for making this happen. FAD
mentored and inspired developers and students interested in learning and
participating more in the Fedora project."

Sub: Newbee needs help from Seniors.
by Kamalendu Chakrabarty
Sir,
I have installed Fedora-9
I am unable to configure CGI-BIN.
What I intend to do:
1) Computer is stand alone
2) I want to practice perl scripts and to test that at my computer as
http://localhost/cgi-bin/xyz.cgi
3) I am getting error message as:
4) I have changed permission for kamal.cgi as 755
5) From command line perl script is working
I do attach the following files in .txt format
a) The httpd.conf file as httpd.conf.txt
b) The error message as error.txt
c) kamal.cgi file as kamal.cgi.txt
I have one more query – what is the path of .htaccess file. How to
open it? – does it open with vim editor?
Waiting eagerly for help.

[RFC] Newslater template for Fedoranews.
by susmit shannigrahi
Hi,
I was just thinking about it.
Currently, It is sent as a plaintext mail.
A nice template and sending it as a newslater can make it more
professional looking.
I think we can work on it...
What do you think?
